About this deal

This means that you cannot keep the Anker flashlight on the charger and have it instantly ready for an emergency. You switch between them by Turning off the current setting, and immediately pressing the power button again. This graph shows the surface temperature of the Anker LC90 flashlight over time when running at the high output level. In my test, I drop the flashlight six times onto a concrete sidewalk from the height specified by the manufacturer’s rating.

Anker LC90 LED Flashlight, IP65 Water-Resistant, Zoomable, Rechargeable, Pocket-Sized Torch (for Camping, Hiking and Emergency Use) with 900 Lumens. This means that even if a company is testing to the FL1 standard, it is reporting an 89% reduction in light output as part of its runtime. Not sure I like that… but from an engineering perspective I see why, it shortens the torch to have the threading. There are a broad range of handheld tactical lights on the market, and many of them offer superior performance to the Anker LC90 flashlight.

In conclusion, for: very good after sales service and support (hence the increase to 3*), good overall build quality and powerful light with good distribution (when zoomed in up to about 30%-40%, so as to avoid the big grey centre spot), good battery life, good packaging. While the data and tables above help to explain how the flashlight performs, the following photos actually show you. However, the tests do allow readers to make reasonable comparisons between the lights I have previously reviewed. The housing was obviously damaged from the falls, but none of the damage appeared to affect the light’s integrity.Completely agree … removing the cap is a big no-no… it should have had a flap to flip and connect the charger.

I like the usb charger as I can take it in the car and charge it via the cigar lighter point with a usb fitting. Revomed the charger, (which BTW both the charger and the cable are by Anker) and the battery and reinserted it, connectd the charger, light shows green, heating again and torch is stuck permanently on SOS mode even with rear cap detached. If you have any questions, please leave a comment in the section below and I will do my best to answer them. While some may like this, I would prefer if it reset to the high setting after 5 seconds of being off. Since the LC90 flashlight has an adjustable beam, I photographed the light at the widest beam and most zoomed in.From 50 to several 100 feet the light pattern is bright and you can see everything within the light pattern. If you were to open up my gear bag you will find a small fixed beam flashlight, a small pen light, and an adjustable rechargeable light. This means that if Anker was in compliance with the FL1 standard, the impact resistance should be reported a 1 meter.

I have had two of these for over a year and it’s impossible to find faults for a 30 buck flashlight. Having to remove the end cap to charge is pretty annoying for me as it means this cant be left on charge and used as a grab it and go emergency light. Some people might say that Anker printed the information in this way to intentionally mislead consumers.Rechargeable power sources come with obvious limitations over readily available disposable batteries. Anker states 6hr charge time, mine was almost fully charged out of the box and took just over an hour to top it up to full.
