Description

A lot of compact binoculars have 25mm optics, but the extra aperture of the Bresser 32mm Condors bring more light to your eyes when you need it, such as when the sun is low or the scene is cast in shadow. The focus knob, conveniently located in the center of the bridge, is rubber coated and knurled for a better grip. Make no mistake these are excellent quality budget binoculars that make great general use binoculars ideal for nature observation, camping and taking to sporting events. A number of new binocular ranges have been released by them, though, so I took a look at the Condors, whose pricing ought to make them highly attractive to beginners, or the budget-conscious. Just like standard binoculars, these have a diopter adjustment ring to calibrate them to cater for any differences in vision between the left and right eyes.

The Bresser Pirsch ED 8×42 PhC didn't have any noticeable slip-ups in our test (maybe apart from too truncated exit pupils); in many categories it fared well or even very well. I don’t see this as being a concern if you use them with the eyecups fully extended but if you utilize the intermediate position I think the o-rings would come in handy. On the other hand it should be noticed that Bresser didn't take a shortcut here by offering a completely narrow field of, say 6. Laser Range Finder, Cameras, Red Dots and Electronics: 90 Days or Extendable to Limited USA One Year Warranty when product is registered within 60 days of purchase. This example was better and 'with' diopter adjustment but wasn't as sharp as the first and it didn't take long before the diopter started to drift away.Based on others’ comments about them there appears to be a second group of open-bridge ED glass binoculars on the market that are markedly different than those offered by Promaster, Zen Ray and Hawke. A high quality multi layer coating on all glass elements reduce distracting reflections and improves the light transmission and provides a high contrast also in bad light conditions. Thankfully this one had no problems but after a while I got rid of it because the optics were just not good enough to be useful for me.

The high quality BRESSER Condor series are extremely versatile binoculars - waterproof, nitrogen-filled and handy. I don't have either the Bushnell or the Zen Ray in my possession at the moment but I did own both for extended periods of time. The compact roof prism binoculars feature a 42 mm lens that lets in sufficient light, allowing you to carry on observing until twilight. For older or more experienced kids, take a look at some of the standard compact binoculars that I suggest below. There is noticeable internal baffling between that retention ring and the prism but there isn’t any baffling between the objective cell and the retention ring…just a smooth flat black surface. Again, as referenced in other reviews I use the term “depth of focus” to refer to how long the image stays in focus as I rotate the focus knob in either direction.

In terms of the design, it looks to me as though Bresser uses exactly the same focus wheels on both models, which makes perfect sense. I know the rudimentary info but more in depth knowledge may explain why the comparison turned out such as it did. Marvel at cute forest dwellers at twilight, view a famous building from an observation platform, or watch your favourite athlete in a competition - with these binoculars, glasses wearers can also get a close-up view of thrilling scenes. I checked out the birds in our garden; Tits, Chaffinches, Collared doves and even a Firecrest where all beautifull and vibrant to observe through these Condors. There are currently five models within the Pirsch ED series, all of which have an open bridge roof prism design and range in size from the mid-sized 34mm versions, to large 56mm models.Other features include a low weight and compact dimensions for an 80mm spotting scope as well as excellent image quality and brightness. Simply reach across the barrels with each hand and gently move the focus knob to the left or right until you achieve sharp focus. The 8x56 Pirsch ED delivers a view that is 114 m wide when measured at a distance of 1000 meters from you (approx 378ft at 1,000 yards). As you would expect in a astronomy binocular, all the instruments in this Astro series are tripod adaptable and come supplied with a padded neck strap, a protective carry case, have tethered objective lens covers, rain-guards and a cleaning cloth is also included. Very good quality of the view with good color reproduction and contrast levels, very low levels of color fringing, hardly any image softening at the edges of the view, and no other visible distortions.

I hope they continue to serve you and yes, that Bresser will continue the Warranty Service, - which these days change, usually to something more limited. Waterproofing keeps them safe against leaking water bottles, trips aboard a vessel, or even living along the coast, where fogging and fungus can be a unwelcome result of beach life. There is a corresponding reference line, in red for diopter adjustment on the right ocular’s accent.

Quality components are used throughout with fully multi-coated optical elements and BaK-4 prisms that give a sharp and high-contrast image over the full field of view. With the rotatable and lockable eyecups, you can adjust the eye distance for the observation with and without glasses; a dioptric correction is standard.
