I compared this double 45 with the old gold CD from Mobile Fidelity, which was far superior sounding to the original CD and boy did it suck compared to this. It was captured on January 14, 1961, at Hibiya Public Hall in Tokyo during the band’s first-ever tour of Japan. Each song is extremely personal and at the same time, universal; covering subjects topical, humorous, and soulful; from the satirical to the sublime.

Thus Analogue Productions has reissued August and Everything After as a double LP set to maximize the dynamic range of this recording. Due to inventory and accounting purposes, we do not exchange items received for different items than originally purchased. Blending the vocal athleticism of Van Morrison with the moody rock of The Band, the Counting Crows turned on a whole legion of fans turned off by modern rock. This album showcases Cooper’s theatricality, storytelling prowess, and ability to create an immersive world of horror and fantasy. Co-produced by Zev Feldman and David Weiss, the audio was newly transferred from the original 1/4″ tape reels.
