and “God Smack” give Layne Staley a chance to explore a vocal arsenal that encompasses bluesy wails, unholy screams, and. Let It Happen, Disciples and Reality In Motion are among the strongest tracks here but the long languid approach means a different track might hit you more strongly on each listen.

By and large Kevin Parker’s approach to recording has not, though the sound coming out of his home studio has vastly expanded, as has the number of people anticipating the fruits of his labour. I bought the album, loved the same tracks that i heard on Jules Holland and wasn't too bothered by the rest.

Transitions in life, relationships, perspectives, mindsets - Currents maps Parker's evolution through these and finds him a brand new person. Parker has said Currents' designs are based on a diagram of vortex shedding he remembered while trying to visualize the album's themes. Yeah, is a surreal, funky, profane, and perversely joyous album, overflowing with casual eclecticism and giddy humour. Kevin Parker, the musician behind Tame Impala, explained that Currents is about the process of personal transformation. Echoes of Giorgio Moroder and Daft Punk have been added into the mix and this is a laid back love infused album.Products labelled '*item fulfilled by Exertis on behalf of hmv' will be supplied to you directly by Exertis via their approved couriers. Australian combo Tama Impala has always been hard to pin down, with their two studio albums to date displaying a keen desire to capture a trippy, psychedelic vibe, whilst refusing to settle on one easy-to-categorize sound. The drums and Parker’s vocal introduction lull the listener with a sense of familiarity, until it all sweeps up into a cosmos once populated only by French robots, with insistent melody, broken machine loops, synthetic orchestration, surfing vocoder and a shredding guitar outro. The 13 track album, Currents was written, recorded, produced and mixed by Kevin Parker in Fremantle, West Australia.
