Inspired by a simplicity of sorts, David Shrigley’s art is recognisable for his flat compositions accompanied by satirical comments on mundane, everyday situations.

These posters were first made in collaboration with Arken Museum, Ishøj, Denmark, on the occasion of the exhibition Animals in Art in 2020.Shrigley's work has been exhibited widely, including solo shows in San Francisco, Copenhagen, Los Angeles and closer to home at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in Glasgow. English-born artist David Shrigley has created pieces in many different formats and worked extensively in the pop culture sphere. He took the Art and Design Foundation course at Leicester Polytechnic in 1987, moving on to study environmental art at Glasgow School of Art in 1988, where he remained until 1991. Self-branded as an outsider in the art world, Shrigley is known for making flat compositions that take on the inconsequential, the bizarre, and the disquieting elements of everyday life.

Most notably, in 2013 he was nominated for the Turner Prize, following his major mid-career retrospective at the Hayward Gallery, London entitled ‘Brain Activity'. He publishes books, produces music, occasionally designs tattoos and creates all manner of other paraphernalia. Shrigley's work has been exhibited widely, including solo shows at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, Statens Museum for Kunst in Copenhagen, the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in Glasgow, and the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles. Like the musings of a very wise child displaying the wit and humor of a seasoned observer of the adult world, his illustrations feature crossed-out words, scribbled, uneven lines, and darkly funny aphorisms about the world. His oeuvre includes collaborations with musicians such as David Byrne and the group Franz Ferdinand, and designs for t-shirts and drawings for the Triptych Scottish music festivals. The brew team came up with a twist on his favourite beer, adding a high quality pure grapefruit extract to boost those tropical flavours. David Shrigley was born on September 17th, 1968, in Macclesfield, Cheshire, and grew up in Oadby, Leicestershire. Despite his success with the highly collectable and instantly recognisable satirical drawings, Shrigley also works across other mediums including sculpture, animation, photography, large-scale installations and music. His most recent artistic exploration brought him into the realm of public art; In September 2016, Shrigley's large scale sculpture ‘Really Good' was unveiled in Trafalgar Square, for the Fourth Plinth Commission.
