I loved this police procedural/crime fiction novel and look forward to reading the third book in the series, “Dead List”. The story, while gruesome in places, rattles along at a good pace and has a few twists and turns to hold one’s interest. I don't think it will stay in my mind for long but I enjoyed the read and the cliffhanger at the end means I'll have to read the next one, Dead List, straightaway.

In addition, I was not entirely convinced by the main perpetrator’s motive for their heinous actions. I am really enjoying this series, getting to know the characters and enjoying how they solve the murders. Lydia is just slutty and Jones is a cheap-skate, too concerned with saving money than solving crimes. Soon, another decomposed body of a young woman is found in a hearse – mouth sewn shut and a tag on the earlobe. This is a totally gripping twisty turny book with plenty going on: an abducted child, murder of a witness and the dead/missing young women. good mystery, excellent police work, believable characters, the little personal nuances that make the characters come alive on the paper. Their conversations about each others' personal lives starts to become too much and I found myself flicking through those parts. Although, if you look at how many are in the series, I'm sure you can figure out how it ends for at least one character.

The students have not been reported by the university until one student interested in profiling decides she wants to get involved. The plot doesn't quite hold together; the hunt for a serial killer only becomes an issue when bodies start turning up. I have not marked it quite so high as the previous book 'Dead Wrong' but it was a very strong 3 star rating and could of easily have been a 4. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. She is a good friend as well as a colleague, and she never hesitates to give her advice when it comes to Tom’s personal life. Jonathan combines his audio work with a busy theatre and TV career, having featured in over 500 radio plays for the BBC and appearing in everything from Shakespeare to Sherlock Holmes. I have no idea how she keeps track of who is where doing what, and I didn't try to keep track myself, but the story flowed really well. Born in Edinburgh to an English father and Scottish mother the family settled in a Pennine village between the counties of Lancashire and Yorkshire. Once again, we have equal importance given to the characters’ personal lives and mystery behind the murders.

I'm confused by her choice of very similar titles and without some kind of guidance I seem to be always picking a book in the middle of a series. Leave it to Helen to come up with a gripping and gritty police procedural that keeps the reader hooked on to the story till the end. While I do enjoy some of the exchanges between the detectives if is all a little too predictable and set in their roles. Each holds a clue from the start and it is perhaps incompetant police work that fills the ensuing 200 pages.

But for those whose idea of British literature is what's used by Jane Austen it creates a certain amount of confusion -- but a lot of local color.mostly person with a man she's been dating who is having a real hard time being delegated to third place, after her job and her stress-relieving bird watching. Heen H Durrant is my new author to look out for as although the downside was my struggling for attention at the start, it did end up a very good and an all consuming read.
