About this deal
The problem on all my equipment is that the ethanol affects the diaphragms so that they no longer seal properly.
This was supplied with some kind of preservative inside the carburettor which I drained out fitted it ran fuel through the drain plug refitted plug, turned the fuel on left it for 2 minutes to let carb fill and away it went. There was no problem fitting it and, after bleeding the fuel through, the engine started straight away. Original carburetor for my Troy Bilt Power Washer with Honda GCV160 did not have adjustment screws and this replacement does, but it fit perfectly and the engine started on the third pull.Since this engine can provide years of dependable service, you may need to perform occasional repairs and regular maintenance.
Now is the time I wish I had some Vessel + drivers and/or a pair of Engineer Nejisaurus "screw out" pliers, but I don't. Star Tron breaks down this excess water and sludge to sub-micron size allowing it to be safely burned away during normal engine operation. After fiddling with the original carb for hours on end, trying to get it to function properly, I checked on line to see what a new one would cost. That was a tight fit, but I was able to make it work and still keep the protective sleeve around the fuel line.To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. I could try to pop the choke plate off my old carb and swap the whole assembly onto the new carb but I doubt I'd have luck re-attaching the plate properly. Am I correct in assuming any of the auto-choke versions will work on my motor or must I match a specific carb to a specific VIN?
