Motorola will be changing that soon, as it will begin selling the device in the UK and several other countries in Europe. I quite like how you can change the DPI value to force it in split screen, with maps taking up two thirds of the screen and audio/phone on the other third but it makes things a bit smaller so may leave it as default for now. So it's an additional drain but no more than I'd probably expect, and it could easily accommodate a normal longer journey without needing charge. To connect my work phone though I had to unplug the Carsifi to get it to connect to Toyota Touch, I think there is an option for a double press of a button to get it to swap but I haven't tried it yet. I don't have the wireless charging, but whenever I plug my phone into the car, I get a warning on the phone (S22 Ultra) that the charge rate is very low and suggests using another source.

Wireless Android Auto has something of a reputation for battery drain, which I could sort of see with the Motorola MA1. The Motorola MA1 sports a low-profile industrial design for drivers who want to experience a seamless wireless connection but do not have the factory-supplied technology that allows them to do so. In my case, I have a Pioneer aftermarket head unit installed in mine that has its own USB port by way of a separate cable that comes out near the glove compartment. You only need to concern yourself with this the very first time you connect, though it’s worth mentioning that it can only pair with one phone at a time.MOTOROLA and the Stylized M Logo are trademarks or registered trademarks of Motorola Trademark Holdings, LLC. It shouldn't be using the screen, which is a big drain but there will be a lot of wireless communication going on. That way you can use Android Auto wirelessly, without having to plug in your phone every time you leave the house. The interface was just as responsive, steering wheel controls work the same way, and so do voice commands.

On top of that, the dongle design offers a bit of flexibility on where the adapter sits in your car, without losing any performance in the process. All the problems I experienced were problems I’d had with a wired connection — Audible skipping like a cheap portable CD player, the Nissan infotainment system crashing and rebooting mid-drive, or the fact my touchscreen is about as responsive as a dog when it’s time to take a bath. That may change in due course, though, especially if Motorola adds to its in-car gadget lineup with similar products.

It's unclear how Android OS updates might improve the MA1's performance, so that remains to be seen. For these you install an app on the head unit (like you do on your phone) so that the little box works.
