Although it is written that it is intended for women, I think it is a unisex fragrance. The staying power is slightly above average. The spread is also slightly above average. It starts to disappear after 3 hours on the skin. You may want to freshen up in the middle of the day. I am sure this smell will be felt immediately in a crowded environment. Add the atrocious projection and longevity to that - initimate and just over an hour on my dry skin (bad, even for me) respectively - it makes sense why I was so wowed with disappointment. I don't hate- hate it (for that it needed to have skanky oud f.e.), but my expectations have certainly put it in the dislike column. I should've listened to one of my favourite fragrance-Tubers who said that only Euphoria Amber Gold is worth having (and of course: that one seems to be discontinued...). Euphoria is ageless, but has maturity and retains a "GFYS" attitude, albeit with a bit more subtlety in her new refined state. She's less offensive, but somehow just as combative up close. The rich mahogany wood is unmistakable, and she's still tomboyishly just FINE to be alone, yet welcomes anyone who is decent enough to "get" her.

When I sprayed myself that's all I smelled for a while. It's not bad, it has a relaxing effect when I smell it. I do think it could be headache inducing so I only do less than 2 sprays. This spray lasts a long time on clothes. The next day I still smelled that medicinal smell but it was accompanied by a powdery drydown. For having violet in its notes I am very surprised it does not smell awfully powdery so that's a plus. I do enjoy violet but many fragrances with violet end up with a dusty powder element to them. Based on what I'm getting it's not strong enough for winter, but probably runs the risk of getting too peppery for the hot days of summer. Once upon a time, this probably was a great perfume. It likely was that exotic, unique, dark, sexy, fruity, woody, strong perfume it's been advertised to be. Based on the bottle I have (and after one of the many reformulations this perfume is said to have undergone); it's simply not now. If you like 80% wood and 20% iris as your signature fragrance - this is for you. That's not to say it smells bad. It actually doesn't. But it's not special, and also... *ahem*... quite dated.
