So down to my question... If I get one of these units, how would I connect it up so it uses both the economy 7 off peak supply that is live when the meter switches over at night, and the constant supply which is live 24/7. The BX2000 allows the user to 'top up' the hot water if extra supplies are needed during the day time with the main water heating taking place overnight using off peak electricity.</p> I have just moved into a new flat and it is fitted with a Horstman BX2000 control for the immersion heater. We have, since we moved in, had both the Normal Supply switch turned ON and the ECO Supply switch turned ON. So far, so great and we have hot water all the time (sometimes a bit too hot) and everyone is happy.

My 89 year old mother lives in a council house, which has been all electric since my late father had the gas removed and economy 7 installed. Since father passed away earlier this year and not knowing much about the household things she no relies on me to sort things out when they go wrong. The BX2000 controller uses two double pole switches to control the 24 hour supply and off peak supply and accepts all incoming and outgoing wiring including; single, dual or two separate 3kW immersion heater applications. The HORSTMANN (SECURE) BX2000 WATER HEATING BOOST CONTROLLER is a genuine, brand new Horstmann Controls product, covered by a Horstmann Controls manufacturer's guarantee. We've had the council out to sort the problem out, which appears to be a faulty controller. However I would really like some means of setting the on / off times as she only really needs to heat the water once during the night so she has a tank of water throughout the day. I've seen that Horsmann do a digital programmable economy, and Timeguard also do a similar unit, however these seem to have a single supply in, and just five terminals (whereas the BX2000 has ten). The Horstmann BX2000 Water Heating Controller is ideal for use with off peak overnight tariffs with or without an extra day time off peak peroid. The control is designed to provide a full tank of hot water in the morning with the addition of a boost timer to provide a top up during the day.

If so, could there be an issue where by the Normal Supply is for some reason constantly on causing the bill increase?
