The Monument Masters 1215K, 1315XVE (replacing the 1315Longarm ), 1222G and the 1322Extended Pipe Bender are #MadeInBritain. First models of the new pipe bender were designed and 3D printed in the engineering suite at Monument. We standardised the handle diameters for both sizes. We posed this question through the Tooltalk App (see all the answers in the app available for iOS or Android AOS). Rubber feet are available code 2607F which fit the 1215K, 1315XVE, 1315Longarm, 1222G, 1322Extended. Two rubber feet are included in the 22mm versions. The rubber feet also fit the Monument 15mm/22mm combi bender 2600K. The images shown here are of multi pipe benders and mini pipe benders. The multi bender, as the name suggests, will take many different sizes of pipe, while the mini bender will take the smaller diameter pipes. The Monument 1215K-XV & 1315Extended-XVE create similar bend radiuses to a Monument 2600K combi bender.

Pipe springs can be used in pipes up to 22mm diameter but bending a 22mm pipe with a spring is a herculean task which none of us would attempt. Pipe benders come in a variety of sizes catering for copper pipes from 6mm to 38mm and are operated by hand. Mechanical benders deal with pipes bigger than this. pipe, bent with a spring is ok, but do not expect a very tidy job and read our project about how to box the pipes in afterwards as although it will probably do the job it will need hiding away! Monument have reengineered a design previously unseen on the UK market. The (launched in June 2020 ) pipe benders, 1215K XV 15mm Pipe Bender, the 1315XVE 15mm (1315Longarm XVL 15mm) , the 1222G XXII 22mm and the 1322Extended XXIIE 22mm Pipe Benders deliver force to bend the pipe in the same plane as the bend. The traditional combi bender such as the Hilmor ® GLM or Irwin ® GLM or Monument ® MON2600 are offset from the bending plane.

Choose the correct size of spring for the pipe. Some springs fit in the pipe, while other types are designed to fit around the outside.

We believe the 1215K-XV, the 1315XVE, the 1315Longarm-XVL, the 1222G-XXII and the 1322Extended-XXIIE are easier to use than a combi bender: Bending copper pipe can be done properly in two ways, ether a tool called a bending spring is used or a more substantial tool called a proprietary plumbers copper pipe bender is used. While copper is soft, it's not soft enough to bend smoothly and perfectly on its own. Bending copper pipe without special methods or tools usually results in pipe collapse. Instead of a continuous curve, the pipe will crimp and fold at the intended bend point. For crafting, it's generally not the look you want. For plumbing, it impedes water flow.
