About this deal

We provide great quality and value for money with our Bonsai Starter Kit. Not only this, we have invested our time and resources to thoroughly test the seeds and attempt to grow them before approving each batch for sale. The Japanese Red Maple, which grows into an umbrella shape. This species offers a unique and enchanting look that is easily recognizable. The cold wet environment also helps break down and soften the hard outside shell outside of the seed. Like I talked about before, this makes sure water can get in to start the growth cycle within the seed. This is why its better to leave them in there for longer. After 3 weeks you might get some water breaking into the seed, after 6 weeks it should definitely have happened. As for the thin polythene bag, that means a freezer bag and this shouldn’t be “ideally”…You actually need to seal you pot in a freezer bag. This will form a little greenhouse enviroment. The water can’t escape so it becomes very humid in there, which the seeds like. I think it’s just important to know, you won’t get what is on the box straight away. You are going to end up with some small seedlings and it will take many years to get them to look like trees and even longer for it to look like the box art.

You need to get the balance and damp is where you want to be. You shouldn’t have any pooling of water at the bottom of your bag, but having some condensation is fine. These are just general questions I have been asked, or think you may ask: My seeds have already sprouted before putting them in the fridge, what do I do? Yes, this is fine. You should sow you seeds soon after getting your kit. Don’t leave the seeds sitting around for months/years. The older they get, the less likely they will grow. Firstly, how long can it take to see seedlings emerge? Once you remove them from the fridge it will take between 2 and 4 weeks to see some signs of life. It can take longer, so don’t give up. After about 2 weeks of removing them from the fridge, I would start looking at them daily to see if you see anything. Be consistent. With some work every day you can go from a seedling to a bonsai in as little as three months.

Obviously there is a chance you may have a kit with slightly different species, but as a rough guide you should have something similar to what I got. How much space do you have available for your bonsai trees? They can grow inside, but they need some sunshine, so an area near a window is required. You might want to have a work area where you can prune and train them and a separate display area. Decide ahead of time how and where you want to take care of your bonsai, because you’ll also need to have all your tools available to you as well. Dedication Heat and humidity is what seeds need to grow, but it will also really ideal conditions for mould growth. So like I said above, try and keep your pots away from radiators and other heat sources. Seeds can grow fine at temperatures of room temperature and below, where as mould likes it really nice and warm.

You can NOT speed this up by using the freezer. Freezers are too cold and will just cause the cells in the seed to burst and then they are dead! I’m guessing if you are reading this, you are new to growing plants and don’t have any other pots/soil, so just use the coir pots/soil provided in the kit. You will see in my video I used both the supplied soil and my own. Both worked equally as well. This whole process is instead of planting the seeds and letting them rest for 3 weeks. It’s basically a short cut version but the desired process is the same. Maybe someone in the art department wasn’t an expert on bonsai and didn’t realise what they were doing when they added the picture of the juniper? They just wanted a nice looking bonsai on the box, which, to be fair, they did! This is also correct. The seeds can get too hot and die. Also when they germinate, the direct sun will be too powerful for their tiny delicate leaves and will kill them.

Informal upright: In this form, the trunk of the tree is trained to grow upright but with bends and curves as it rises. Think of the tree trunk as a squiggly line from top to bottom. When watering, do so very thoroughly, make sure the entire root mass is wetted! Care and maintenance

Hopefully you will get as much pleasure and success from your grow kit as I have had. It’s going to take a while until you get a bonsai from this kit, but trust me; the reward is worth the wait. After this, everything is the exact same and as you can see from the video the results were pretty much the exact same as well. “Grow It – Bonsai Kit” Youtube Video Nearly any species of tree can be shaped like a bonsai, but some are better suited than others. Your kit should feature photos of the tree types included so you can choose a variety you like. Tools Formal upright: This is the full-size tree in miniature. You’re attempting to copy the way it looks in the wild, only smaller. I’ve already talked about using the kit and how most beginners should have success, but also how I’ve had to write a post making the instructions more clearer for beginners. That would suggest that the instructions are not great, but i guess this depends on your prior experience with growing or not. The Box Art
