About this deal

The pump actually works nicely which was a surprise. I usually keep it disconnected as I don't like the hoses in the yard, or running a extension cord out to the pool. But when I hook it up it circulates the water well. Its surprisingly easy to attach - each hose has a plastic ring that can be tightened by hand. You end up hooking up 3 hoses to the pool and the other ends to the pump, so 6 hose clamps in all. The pump from my last pool still works so they last at least one summer. The plastic is sturdy and good for 1 summer about 7 to 8 months. Every year I find I have to replace the pool as the top develops leaks in the plastic air ring. I assume its the sun (ultraviolet light probably) plus the chlorine I add. The plastic becomes too brittle to bother with trying to repair it. This is why it got a four star instead of a five. It might last longer if you drain it and store it in-between uses - I literally leave it in the yard all year. If you put the pool on a foam base (I used 4x8 foam insulation sheets) if makes it easier to stretch the bottom and make sure it is even and without wrinkles. The pool has to be on a level surface and you need to get those wrinkles out.

I’ve included an updated photo, the fittings do leak a bit if the clamps are not positioned directly over the rubber o-ring as the clamps are installed. Even so the plastic clamps really aren’t able to ensure a leak proof fit. If this isn’t something you’d be able to live with, I’d recommend getting better steel clamps in place of he provided plastic ones.

Intex's beautiful Easy Set Pools will ensure that you enjoy seasons of garden family fun! Intex have brought years of enjoyment to millions of people around the world. Their high quality, easy to assemble pools are the best value on the market today. A pool can be installed ready for filling with water within 10 minutes. My 10x10 pop-up canopy, with the legs UN-extended, has been keeping the water surface surprisingly cleaner. But the bugs do still find it... Popping it up provides a nice shady spot to soak my burns-too-easy skin. (But do take the cover off or stake it down, when it's too windy. Particularly near your pool. If it blows over...) I shuffle it out of the way or remove the top if I want warmer water. (And maybe extend 2 legs and keep 2 legs short, when I want to ruin the nosy neighbor's view...) I put two in and test the pool every couple of days and try to keep 2 full tablets in it at all times. Thus far it has tested great every single day. stars due to a useless filter. I have only just set the pool up and haven't used It yet but it's been up for 8 hrs and looks good.

I have nothing bad to say about the pool, it is still going strong, the leaks at the hoses are very minimal and the filter is what it is. I would recommend buying this pool to someone who has a small area, doesn't want to spend a lot of time keeping it up, and has young kids or just wants something to relax in and cool off.

Be sure you have a flat area to place it on. I have a slight down-slope in my yard and this was a problem until I figured out how to support the pool. With a slope, even a small one, the pool will take an oblong shape and will not hold as much water. One side will be more shallow than the other. I corrected this by placing wood landscaping timbers at the down-side (I have a plastic tarp to protect against puncturing the pool). This provides just enough support so that I get a perfectly round pool. One could also use dirt or sand, but be careful of runoff moving the dirt (cover it in a plastic tarp).

I placed mine onto two sheets of 4x8(x1"?) styro-foam insulation from Homers Depot. Doh! Perfect, and it protects tho pool from the ground. Shape it round if you want. (This item may or may not make it to year three...) I have to say for the price this is a really nice little pool! Being someone who admires the genius of a good design I appreciated the pool probably a bit more than most, the design itself is brilliant, large stable bottom and the sides of the pool taper/are smaller in circumference traveling up toward the top or rim of the pool, which gives it a good stable side without any additional support such as a frame, rim itself is basically an inflatable doughnut which contributes significantly to the stabilization of the pool as inflatables float, the inflatable rim is constantly pulling upward ensuring the sides always return to their intended position holding in the water no matter if someone pushes the rim down allowing water to escape during getting in or out of the pool.
