Staff busied themselves attending to every whim and request! I have a lot of respect for the previous incumbent of this establishment, Top’s or Lal, who ran a brilliant well-oiled dining out experience, but sadly like all good things, they come to an end and as one door closes, another door will open, and it has here in the shape of Nellie the Elephant. The hustle and bustle were amazing, chitter chatter, laughter and the clatter of plates filled the air. The doorway in the foreground, to the immediate left, is the 'Cellar' entrance - although it's actually at ground level ! We'll have a brief look in there in a moment, by accessing it from the inside door.

It's always great to see new businesses setting up shop in North East Lincolnshire – especially in the current climate – so I was eager to go down to Nelly's Café on opening day and try the food for myself. Best Known For: Nelly is an American rapper and singer known for such hits as 'Country Grammar' and 'Dilemma.' Many of the old faces here to look after you with a rather familiar menu similar to the Elephant group restaurants. When went to pay , was asked if all ok - advised re the delays and did ask if ‘older waiter’ that served us ( and banged box down ) was manager - he wasn’t !! Did assure us they would try better next time - I did point out that they had missed a bottle of wine off the bill ! Thanked us for honesty and that was that !!

Nelly, The Party Starter

So, well done to all the guys and staff on a very busy opening night may I wish you all the very best wishes for your new venture. What remains on this top floor, are the walls doors and fireplaces, however most of the wooden floor boards have been removed, along with the ceiling. Treading carefully towards the only light source, daylight beaming through the dusting, cob-webbed windows, we can again peer down into the rear courtyard. Stepping inside the bustling café at lunchtime, the first thing I saw was a huge board listing the wide range of meals on offer. I was glad there was so much to choose from. Nelly's 2000 solo debut, Country Grammar, spawned a smash single by the same name, and his unique approach to music has kept his sound fresh and the hits coming. Nelly's next four albums all made it to the top three on the Billboard chart, with the singles routinely making the top 20 and four of them going to No. 1. When the two-time Grammy Award winner isn't creating hit songs with collaborators or on his own, Nelly ventures into film and television work. Early Years

Myself and a number of friends now refer to this small room as 'The Office'. It's here we'll often assemble to put the world to rights. If tonight was a taste of what is on offer, then there are going to be some very happy people round the Preston area. Big portions left all of us bloated and very happy. Then we were treated to a complimentary drink on the house. Here we are, at the far end of the pool room, standing near the patio doors - leading to the secluded courtyard. Although not an original part of the Inn, this room has been quite tastefully designed, and does not pretend to be a copy of any other part of the building. This room, with its opened apex ceiling, houses two pool tables, a jukebox and pin-ball machine. All of this is more of an annex, and shouldn't detract from the uniqueness of the rest of the Pub. This is - at the end of the day - a real and operational Pub, with real people (well maybe a few exceptions there!), and not a museum. Nelly's debut album, Country Grammar (2000), became a huge hit while featuring appearances by St. Lunatics, Lil Wayne and Cedric the Entertainer. The record went platinum nine times over in the United States and debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart. It peaked at No. 1 on the album chart, and the first single, also called "Country Grammar," reached No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and No. 1 on the rap chart. The second single, "Ride wit Me," featured St. Lunatic member City Spud and hit No. 3.

Having entered through the doorway visible to the left, we are now facing towards the main fireplace, with the windows overlooking Hengate to our right. The only thing left to say is to wish all the guys at Bangla fusion all the very best in whatever venture they embark on in the future and thank you for serving the Much Hoole community so well for the past two decades. Oh, and thank you for the Bangla Fusion Restaurant menu, NOT the takeout menu this time, the real McCoy. Just out of view, immediately to our right, is the Scullery entrance, and all around are old cupboards built into the walls. I saw that this cafe was on route to a coast path walk we were going to do and pictures looked cute so thought we would give it a go.
