Imagine a world where you are listening to a podcast on your way home, then you want switch to Fortnite and teamchat, but you don’t want to miss the end of the podcast. With Dual Wireless, it’s as easy as simply pressing a button and connecting to your PC or console, and then you can hear both devices at once. Revolutionary right? ComfortMax System ensures a comfy wear over long hours of use with height-adjustable rotating earcups, flexible suspension band and pivoting hangers

If you're not concerned about price, the SteelSeries Nova Pro is an incredible gaming headset that also doubles as a high-end pair of traditional headphones. The Nova Pro is one of the few wireless headsets that is compatible with both PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. That alone makes it an awesome choice if you have both consoles. There are two versions: one that works wirelessly with PlayStation and PC and one that is compatible with Xbox, PlayStation, and PC (only two devices at once). We have retested these headphones due to user reports of a hissing sound in Noise Isolation. We have also corrected the Firmware version in Test Settings. The SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 features audio output pretty close to our in-house target, with a handful of notable deviations. While the sub-bass is nicely emphasized, the bass comes through up to around 5dB louder than we generally like to see between 100-200Hz, and there’s a pretty significant dip around 400Hz. However, while bass and midrange sound have some definite foibles, the high range frequency response is considerably wonkier, with a huge dip at 5kHz and a big over-emphasis at 7kHz. Lows, mids, and highs Considering all the connectivity on the Nova 7 Wireless, it’s no surprise that you can hook it up to just about any system. The USB-C dongle lets you use the headset with a PC, PlayStation, or Switch, while you can use the Bluetooth capability for Mac, tablets and phones. Of course, you can also connect it to any analog device thanks to the 3.5mm connection. We have received user reports of a noise floor when using mic monitoring. We have updated Recording Quality, but the scoring of this test hasn't changed.

It’s still surprisingly comfortable to wear despite that one issue. The ski goggle headband keeps the steel band from putting pressure on your head, while the airweave memory foam ear pads are plush and keep you from feeling any fatigue even after wearing it for long periods. Having also tested the Nova Pro Wireless, though, we much prefer the soft leatherette covering its ear pads to the coarser cloth here. Considering the price, a softer fabric would have given it higher value. Speaking of features... Simultaneous Bluetooth!! It works flawlessly on all platforms. The Nova 7X works wirelessly on Xbox, PS, PC, and Switch. The Nova 7 and 7P work on everything but the Xbox (although you can use the aux cord for that at the sacrifice of convenience and sound quality). The Nova 7P changes out the game/chat mix wheel for mic side tone adjustment. The 7X and PC versions can still adjust side tone, but it needs to be done via SteelSeries GG engine. Those settings save to the headset and will be preserved when using it on console.

Of course, a headset is only as good as its sound quality, and the Arctis Nova 7P is no slouch. Featuring 360-degree spatial audio and Tempest 3D Audio support on PS5, you’ll be able to make full use of the console’s impressive audio technology. It runs for a solid 38 hours of battery life. Experience 360° Spatial Audio with our free Sonar Software for total immersion (other formats, including Tempest 3D on the PS5, are also supported). 2. ComfortMAX System Unlike the Arctis 7, the ear cups are thinner except for the raised circular portions that house the replaceable ear cup plates. These small, circular plates act as an accent instead of covering the entire outside surface as the ones on the Arctis 7 do.

I'm never turning back

The unique suspension headband found on the Arctis 7/7+ has been redesigned in the ComfortMAX System with more points of adjustment for improved fit options. The stretchy fabric band helps spread pressure evenly so it almost floats above your head, and new height adjustable, pivoting earcups provide more ways to adapt the headset to your individual head shape. 3. Dual Wireless, simultaneous listening Out of the box, it’s clear that the Arctis Nova 7P is a high-quality headset. Its build is incredibly strong, featuring a sturdy, metal form factor to help give it that premium feel. It’s got a deep blue-hued headband across the top for enhanced comfort, and the ear cups are made of a pleasantly soft material. The entire product is white aside from its blue band to mimic the stylings of the PS5. We've converted this review to Test Bench 1.6 , which updates how we measure latency. We've updated and renamed the following test groups: Wired Connection, Bluetooth Connection, and Wireless Connection (Dongle). We've also added new codec latency measurements and provided an audio sample of recorded latency.

If you’re hoping to use this for anything else, it also comes with a 3.5mm port for wired connectivity. In essence, you can connect the Nova 7 Wireless to just about anything, though if you want wireless connectivity to an Xbox, you need to get the Nova 7x instead. Dual-connectivity is the real feature win here though. Being able to connect to the PS5 using the dongle and my MacBook or iPhone using bluetooth is incredible for either casual gaming with a podcast or music, or for Discord chat if you're playing with PC players. Battery life takes a bit of a hit of course but nothing too major. All in all it's an awesome feature to have. Without doubt the most comfortable headset I have used after 3 or 4 previous long-term headsets over the years. The 'head fatigue' I've gotten with previous headsets (including the Pulse 3Ds) is non-existent here and I find even after 3-4 hours or wearing them my head feels like they haven't even been on. A really 'light' feel on the head. The headband location is changeable by a few different pinholes and the cup's height can be altered by the telescopic arms which go into the band. Clamp force is 'low', I'd say. It's high enough to feel secure but low enough to not ache your ears / sides of head. The SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7P is an excellent headset that offers much more than just great sound quality. You’ll be treated to a noise-canceling microphone that can fully retract into the earcup when not in use, plush earcups that stay comfortable during extended play sessions, and the ComfortMax System--which includes the lightweight steel headband, four points of adjustment, and soft materials throughout the headset that give it a premium feel. Our list of the best PS5 headsets includes high-end wireless models as well as budget-friendly wired options and everything in between. It's worth mentioning that the pricier headsets on this list not only produce crisper and more customizable audio experiences, they tend to have better, more ergonomic builds. That's another aspect to consider when shopping: Comfort is almost as important as sound quality. As you'll see, the best PlayStation headsets come from numerous brands, including SteelSeries, Razer, Sony, and more manufacturers. One notable feature regarding the design of the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro headset is its comfort during longer gaming sessions. I wear glasses when sitting in front of screens, and more often than not wearing a headset simultaneously will result in a dull ache or a feeling of abrasion behind my ears where the cups of the headset have been resting for too long, but the soft cups of the Arctis Nova 7P mean this problem is avoided entirely. A good PS5 headset can improve your audio experience, whether you play competitive multiplayer games or immersive single-player adventures. For those who game online with friends, a good mic is another feature of the best PS5 headsets that's important to note when making your choice. Additionally, the PS5 has some cool sound features, including Tempest 3D AudioTech, that can be properly highlighted by using select headsets, so it's worth keeping that in mind when deciding which one will fit the criteria you're looking for. Though the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 Wireless is more than just a light refresh, you can still see the general outline of previous SteelSeries headsets in its design. The ear cups are oval where they meet the ear pads, and the headset still comes with replaceable ski goggle headbands and ear cup plates. It also uses similar materials, namely durable-feeling plastic for the earcups and metal for the headband (PVD-coated steel in the case of the Nova 7). That’s where most of the similarities end. We have corrected information regarding a comparison with these headphones and the SteelSeries Arctis 9X Wireless in Compared To Other Headphones.
