Traditional resin dries on its own, so it is a race against time to pop the bubbles before the resin hardens. UV resin is very sensitive to heat compared to normal epoxy resin. If it gets too hot, an acrid smell will develop. When working with UV resin patience is essential to achieve a perfect result. If you take enough time, pour thin layers of resin and harden them, you can prevent air bubbles from forming in the resin, which then has to be removed. If you want to seal the surface of a smaller area such as a paper surface or a very small stretcher frame, then this is possible without any problems with UV resin. You can get a fair quality UV lamp in some resin kits, but you can also simply buy them separately.It gives even coverage from various angles and helps speed up the curing process of almost any small resin craft. As with all traditional forms of epoxy resin, UV resin is available in either hard or soft form. Soft form UV epoxy has more of a jelly-like consistency when cured.
