this was incredible. i laughed + cried (a lot, but that could just be because i was crying because i love them) Was this better than the first daisy haites book? no. (in my opinion) even if it’s still good. But I’ll gladly reread the first one more than this one. Growing up, Daphne always knew Peter Pan would come for her. The way he'd come for her mother, and her grandmother and Wendy before that. The Darling girls. Their stories are all the same: the forever-young boy at their window after their thirteenth birthday, and the shimmering, magical land behind a star. why oh WHYYYY did he think it would be okay to get involved with her😭😭😭😭 everything is ruined now. everything. he cannot be forgiven for his involvement. he’s literally the worst character. Christian - who are you and what have you done with Christian. I almost didn't recognize this new Christian. He was so mature. I honestly came into this book expecting to rag on him like I do for the previous books, but I had very few complaints. I hated how he reacted to Daisy's reaction to the sex tape, but he moaned Daisy's name so I got over it. This man was so obsessed with Daisy he switched colognes, stared at daisies, and basically thought about her nonstop. I loved him. He was truly the best character in this book (the bar is rather though I must admit).

This book should have appropriately been called Julian Haites: The Great Undoing. If it had, perhaps I wouldn’t feel as disappointed by this book because my expectations would have been accurately set from the beginning. Even the cover points towards Julian, another disappointment, as the story-telling tattoos feel repetitive after learning how important BJ’s tattoos about Magnolia are in MP1 and MP2. I was so disappointed because I hoped and expected to be taken in by their story again and I was dead wrong. Too much Tiller for too long and I have to say.. didn’t know she hadn’t confirmed Daisy and Christian as end game. That makes me even more pissed off because Magnolia is having an entire live story play out with Julian and yet we know it’s pointless, but we have to wait YEARS to find out if Daisy and Christian make it? I would just guess yes, but the way she hates anyone other than Magnolia and BJ makes me wonder if she won’t just ruin them too so she has characters to hurt and emotions to manipulate readers. A clear theme in the series is how the female leads use men as coping mechanisms and jump between guys, which I know is because they’re being portrayed as real and flawed. However, now four books in, I’ve grown tired of the constant love triangles. I found myself feeling frustrated that Tiller and Daisy were drawn out for almost half of the book when that time could have been used on Daisy and Christian. But perhaps if Christian and Daisy's time wasn’t already limited because of Julian and Magnolia, it may have been less tiresome. I had some expectations for this and none of them were met. Truly made me feel nothing, absolutely nothing. I hated how long they stayed together after Daisy realized they weren't gonna work. It was just annoying. The only good thing that came out of this relationship was the stand off in the bar. That was a great scene.Everything gets more complicated when beautiful, broken-hearted socialite Magnolia Parks enters the scene and Julian finds himself entangled with her. Because for Julian, falling in love isn’t just unwelcome – it could be deadly for everyone involved . . . Also… I’m over the love triangle. Again, pointless. I’m over the boxset. Didn’t mind them but it’s becoming clear they have no loyalty to anyone but Magnolia. All they do is tear down Christian and to believe that she’s trying to sell it to us as found family is laughable. The really disappointing thing is that I would’ve loved all of this stuff if she wasn’t more and more just using everyone as a pawn to bolster one character. I know she’s a new author, but this ain’t it. Aside for a cult following who are also obsessed with Magnolia I don’t see how this is a recipe for success. A girl who was brought up in the world of crime, yearning to be normal. Daisy is SO badass.' (FIVE STARS) You will fall in love with Daisy Haites a million times over and be desperate for more of her story when it ends.' ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Also, even though it‘s the same universe and they are completely present in each others lives I loved the different vibes in Magnolia‘s books and Daisy‘s first book. This felt just like another Magnolia Parks book. ChristianDais […!!!!!!!!] Christian. I highlighted the shit out of their chapters. Whatever happens […yes you had me there Jessa with the last chapters….] they are ma babies. They are my 5🌟babies. Protect them at all cost. Okay let’s say he didn’t realise he was in love with her at that time 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐑𝐔𝐍𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐀𝐖𝐀𝐘 𝐋𝐈𝐊𝐄 𝐀 𝐋𝐈𝐋 𝐁𝐈𝐓𝐂𝐇 𝐁𝐄𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐄 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐍 𝐊𝐍𝐎𝐖 𝐈𝐅 𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐒 𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐕𝐄 𝐎𝐑 𝐍𝐎𝐓?!?!????? 👏 𝙊𝙤𝙛 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙚!! 𝙃𝙚 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙨 𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙨𝙤 𝙛𝙪𝙘𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙢𝙪𝙘𝙝 𝙄’𝙢 𝙨𝙬𝙤𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 🤭🥰 The whole plot with Magnolia and Julian was too much. Julian‘s povs were too much. I love him and I loved reading his chapters in daisy haites 1 but this… no.Magnolia. oh, she got butchered in this book. for the first time EVER!!! she did not get on my nerves and she was actually kind of bearable sometimes, considering that in the other books this girl was a master manipulator that somehow managed to ruin the life of every single friend she's ever had. Ok, I know I rated this higher it's because I did enjoy reading this even though it broke my heart into small pieces. I STILL LOVE IT. The only problem I have was that 50% (or even more) of this book was also based between Julian and Magnolia. Daisy - Oh Daisy. I don't know what you did to upset this author but you better get on your knees and beg for forgiveness because it is very clear this author is holding a grudge. Imagine being sidlined in a book that has your name on it. Never in my life have I seen an author be this biased against one of THEIR main characters and so blatantly obvious about it. I truly don't understand why she even bothered to give Daisy books because it's very clear her heart isn't in it. I mean all you have to do is look at that ugly cover she gave this book. Both Magnolia Parks books get a hand drawn cover and Daisy gets a badly photoshopped monstrosity. Although the statue is a Julian reference and the water lillies are for magnolia so maybe it's not Daisy's fault? Anyway, some parts of this book felt like a different Daisy than from book 1, especially when it came to the Tiller relationship. My heart absolutely breaks for her and I hate that we never seem to dive as deep into her trauma as we do with other characters. I know Daisy hated therapy, but she needs it. I'm also so mad that people keep making decisions for her, but we will get there.
