About this deal

We end book one with Cecelia meeting with Dom in a parking lot and Sean at work. They are both clearly at war with themselves. They both explain how sorry they are for hurting her and how they did it to protect her. Sean leaves her with these parting words. Wow- I knew going into this book that it might be a bit different than what I was expecting and yet it totally lived up to what I DO expect from a Kate Stewart romance- a spine-bending story that grips and just takes you along for the ride. I knew better than to get tongue tangled beneath the mistletoe with the only man to ever break my heart. All the feels in the world, I cried, I swooned, I laughed, I sighed, and boy did I love these characters and all their flaws!! These characters, this series is forever going to leave a stamp on my heart!!

Then there was the secrecy. And me trying to guess every secret. To anticipate the moves and the twists. But to no avail. This book was so emotional, pure and also the vulnerable side from each of the characters in it?! I loved it. I probably wouldn't recover from this. I would always think about this freaking book, especially that one scene “We love rainy days, don’t we, baby?” yeah. whenever I see this line ever again, I would cry and whenever it rains, I would think of that and cry. Meggie fell for a priest. I fell for a prophet. We declared war on their calling and cause, and neither of us won." The storyline and its characters are so well thought out, developed and explored. The attention to detail and the curveballs from Kate Stewart are why I love to read.

And then there was Joe Arden's performance. While this story is told all from Cecelia's POV, we still get the male characters from him. Damn damn damn! He did Sean and Dom and the others so well. You could distinguish between the characters and he nailed the sexy and fun Sean just as much as the dark and broody Dom. And his use of our favorite F word? Just perfect! These were the perfect narrators for this ultra sexy romantic suspense set in a small town. I will stop at this for the plot and will focus on what I felt and what you can expect from that read. This week I read one of the MOST AMAZING STORIES I'VE EVER READ. I cannot even begin to explain the emotions!!! The Ravenhood Duet by Kate Stewart is going down as one of my TOP READS EVER. This woman is talented beyond measure. How does she do this to me all the damn time?! She has a way of making me feel things I didn't even know I could feel for characters. THE EMOTIONS SHE BROUGHT OUT OF ME during this RIDE!!! I haven't felt this way about a story in a LONG TIME. The story line is ORIGINAL, refreshing, sexy, mind blowing, heart melting and heart stopping. YOU. WILL. NOT. KNOW. WHAT. HIT. YOU!! I DREAMED ABOUT THESE CHARACTERS AFTER I FINISHED. I AM STILL LIVING IN THIS STORY. I NEVER WANT TO STOP LIVING THIS STORY. THAT, is what reading a book SHOULD be! AND YES I STAYED UP ALL NIGHT READING BOTH BOOKS! You won't be able to put them down! Talk about a wild ride! This book was released last year, but with the audiobook publishing soon, I couldn't pass up the chance to hear how the narrators bring Cecelia, Sean, and Dominic to life. Maxine Mitchell and Joe Arden were the perfect choices for the story, and I found myself being able to get lost in the book so much easier than when I tried reading it via my kindle. Obviously that is personal preference and could be for numerous reasons, but I truly feel that this format brings a special something to the story, an engaging quality that let me feel I was in that small town just outside of Charlotte, NC with them. Cecilia has always played it safe but, blinded by her growing feelings for Sean and Dominic, she’s determined to enjoy her last summer of freedom and be open to new experiences no matter where they might lead.I’ve seen it said that the book starts out a little slow, and I agree. It takes time for the characters to be introduced before the action can really start. I didn’t mind waiting because I found the characters and the mystery around some of them to be very interesting. And once the action got going, it got going…
