John Walker & Sons The John Walker – also known as the Founder’s Blend, the whisky used for this only comes from casks existent during John Walker’s time.The Island Green is a variant of their excellent 15 Year Old Green Label blended malt; the differences are that it is NAS, and it emphasizes Caol Ila over the other malts within (Cardhu, Clynelish and Glenkinchie (though there may be more, I don't know). Nose: Relatively strong peaty notes at first of smoke, tar, charcoal, but also a light pepperiness. Caol Ila is certainly making its presence known, but there’s room for other aromas. Gentle herbs and soft citrus notes (mostly sweet orange peel) round out a balanced olfactory experience. According to Diageo research, 70% of malt whisky consumers began drinking blends before moving into malts. Bagley added that Johnnie Walker Island Green would therefore ‘act as an incredible signpost’ for consumers looking to explore the category further.

With Island Green, they have released a unique Whisky that will be loved by peat heads everywhere. It was first introduced as a travel retail exclusive in July 2018. As well as peated malt from Caol Ila, the no-age-statement blend also includes whisky from Clynelish, Glenkinchie and Cardhu.
