About this deal

Purdy brushes, which one? The Elite Purdys at the merchants beginning with B are fine for oil paint. The Wooster FTP has huge capacity and is accurate, and apart from having a bit of a clunker handle, which is quite a big consideration actually with lots to do, it is in the same ballpark as a Picasso. You need to key the paint in between coats with wet and dry P600-800 – this enables the paint to adhere. Pre-painted Surface Preparation Manufacturers seem to advise extra coats of paint rather than sealer, to avoid adhesion issues with clear sealers. Disclaimer, this is probably the third time I’ve tweaked this technique! So if you’ve watched my process before then you’ll want to stay for my updates *

Our laying off splushes are built with top-notch materials that guarantee an outstanding performance. The European beech wood handle offers a solid grip and the recyclable steel ferrule ensures a match made in painting heaven. The finely tipped synthetic bristles spread paint like butter, leaving you with a finish that will make your jaw drop. eco-friendly brush excellence: brushing towards a greener future Broad / Taping Knives Filling Knife & Scraper Sets Toupret Range Caulkers & Tools Caulking & Sealant Guns Skimming Blades Flexi Tubs PaintWell increased its Industrial Paints offering with the acquisition of Promain UK Limited, the preferred UK distributor for many of the world’s leading paint and surface coatings manufacturers. Laying off– with a brush make long sweeping strokes, length-ways, softly along the surface. As you do this, you will see the paint begin to level. With each pass, soften your stroke & the brush marks will lessen each time.If you find a run or sag when the paint is initially dry/drying don’t rub it down as it is likely to still be wet underneath. Instead slice the top off it with a sharp blade and leave it to dry again. The next day you will be able to rub it down successfully and re-coat either the immediate area or if required the whole panel. Always use the biggest brush you can handle for the job, a 2 inch or 3 inch is more than sufficient for most panel work. Extra information

How we do it… Firstly scrape all the paint off the damaged areas and then using a small rotary wire brush in a drill to get as much corrosion out of the pits as possible. Then Etch Prime this. Next use some fine surface filler. Apply with a scraper or similar then rub down so you have a flat surface. Then over-spray with etch primer again, the reason to do this is that how the surface looks at this point will indicate what it will look like after the topcoat is done. If you are happy with how it appears, over-paint with undercoat or topcoat, whichever is your intention. Optional: The Fusion Extender can help get rid of brush strokes too. You put the equivalent of 3 teaspoons into a whole pint of paint. Or a couple of drops into the paint tray, and this will give you a lot more open time - time to play around with your paint before it dries. One of our kitchen painters, Matt in Wales, has used the Pal Legend for years. I have one and whilst I love the whole idea of it, so well made and full, I rarely used it.The key to good Coach Painting is do it on a pleasant, still day or week if it is a big project.
