Description

As thoughtfully designed as it is, the MX Anywhere 3 isn't the most comfortable mouse for my hands because of its small size. Also in the Logitech Options software is Flow, which lets you move your cursor from one computer screen to the next and even copy and paste or send files between computers. Setup was super easy; within minutes, I was moving my cursor between an Dell XPS 15 work laptop and the HP EliteBook 840 I'm currently reviewing. All you have to do is pair the mouse to both computers and open the Options software. Logitech MX Anywhere 3: Buttons and customization The speed-adaptive scroll wheel shifts between two scrolling modes automatically. As you scroll faster, it will automatically shift from line-by-line scrolling to free-spinning. Sensor, wheel, and buttons will be supported without adding additional drivers on ChromeOS and in most popular Linux

Connecting to my laptop with the USB receiver was effortless; I just wish Logitech found a place to store the dongle in the mouse. There is no integrated USB storage, so be careful not to lose the receiver when you unplug it from your device. Logitech MX Anywhere 3 features While it is not possible to draw a conclusion about the overall quality of the Logitech MX Anywhere 3 based solely on its specifications, it can be noted that Logitech is a reputable brand in the computer peripheral industry known for its commitment to delivering reliable and durable products. You can install Logitech Options+ software to receive battery status notifications, including low-charge warnings. LED ColorNOTE: If the LED is not blinking fast, do a long press of three seconds on the Easy-Switch button on the mouse bottom. When you install Logitech options, you can install predefined app-specific settings that will adapt the mouse button behavior to the selected applications.

Connect one end of the provided charging cable to the USB-C port on the mouse and the other end to a USB power source.

In Logitech Options+ software, you can decide to disable SmartShift if you prefer to stay in one scrolling mode and always shift manually. You can also adjust the SmartShift sensitivity, which will change the speed required to automatically shift into free spinning. NOTE: If the LED is not blinking fast, do a long press of three seconds on the Easy-Switch button on the bottom of the mouse. Unfortunately, it’s not obvious what some of these features mean. I still have no idea what SmartShift is all about. These details should be in the manual, the one that Logitech didn’t write. In the All Application drop down, I can change the functionality for the buttons per each supported application. For example, for Safari the front button on the left can be set to ten different options. Press and hold the Easy-Switch button for three seconds. This will put the mouse in discoverable mode so that it can be seen by your computer. The LED will start blinking fast.

When you scroll in Ratchet mode, you can adjust the feel of your scroll wheel on the “Point & Scroll” tab in Logitech Options. USB receiver: Plug the receiver into a USB port, open Logitech Options, and select: Add devices> Setup Unifying device, then follow the instructions.

MX ANYWHERE 3 FOR MAC

I had no problems switching from a Dell laptop connected to the mouse via the USB dongle to an HP system connected to the mouse via Bluetooth. All you need to do is pair your first device, then press the button to switch channels (this will enable pairing mode) and connect to the second device. If the mouse isn't connecting, you can press the "Easy-switch" button and hold it for three seconds to manually activate pairing. It appears that this functionality can be set for any application. This part of Options is really nice, and I love the flexibility it offers me. What I like With these settings, the wheel mode-shift button retains the same functionality across all applications.

In addition to enabling the buttons for use with Macs, Logitech Options+ software lets you assign other useful functions to the buttons, including undo/redo, OS navigation, volume up/down, and more. NOTE: The horizontal scroll is ON by default in your Logitech Options+ software. You can customize this feature in the Point & Scroll tab in Logitech Options+. When you install Logitech Options+, you can install predefined app-specific settings that will adapt the mouse button behavior to the selected applications. Remember how I mentioned previously that the MX has two buttons on the left side? It turns out that they can be customized for various applications. The installer detected that I have some apps that can be customized, and it offered to set the pre-defined settings for them, which I accepted. With Logitech Flow, you can use the mouse cursor to move from one computer to the next. You can even copy and paste between computers, and if you have a compatible Logitech keyboard, such as MX Keys, the keyboard will follow the mouse and switch computers at the same time.
