Suitable for use on 10, 12, 15, and 22mm pipes, the PlumbTub is compatible with a wide range of radiators. Its large 1.4-litre capacity allows you to drain your radiator without having to empty the tub constantly, saving you time and effort. Many modern bathtub models include an insulating support structure on the bottom. If yours has its own support, you can skip this step. One thing that people often forget to consider is how they actually use the bath. If you're a family that takes regular baths then chances are you're going to want something more durable that can withstand constant battering by kids. If you don't have many baths, preferring showers, but still want the option for a soak then a shower bath could be the best option. If you want a bath simply for a luxurious long soak then it may be worth investing in a stylish spa-like tub with all the bells and whistles, such as a whirlpool bath. You should also think about the style as a timeless design means you won't have to replace the bath for the long run. The style and appearance are very important factors when it comes to deciding which bath to choose. More importantly, practicality is also a main factor – its important to consider how you’re going to use your tub before you buy.

One of the simplest and most widely used methods of venting is called “ conventional venting.” That’s when each plumbing fixture has its own vent, which is called an individual vent. And that’s the method of venting we’re using to plumb this bathroom. Waste flowing through a drainage system creates air pressure fluctuations. These fluctuations in pressure can disrupt trap seals. If these fluctuations are large enough, they remove part or even all of the trap seal. And once that precious seal is lost….in comes the sewer gas….right into your home. If you need something flexible to get into those awkward spaces, or you have had burst pipes or even dripping taps then the plumbtub is just the plumbing accessory you need. Now, the process of bathtub removal starts. Place a piece of cardboard or thin plywood in front of the tub to protect the floor from damage. Use a pry bar, screwdriver, or a drill and screwdriver bit to remove the nails or screws that secure the tub flange to the wall studs. Slide the tub several inches from the wall and onto the floor protection. There are several different methods of venting: wet venting, common venting, circuit venting, island fixture venting, etc… Score and remove the cement board, drywall, or plaster underneath the wall finish below the cut line, and continue removing material until you reach the wall studs.

Mark a level cutting line several inches above the top of the bathtub. Tile grout lines make an excellent cut location. Remove the grout and tile below the line or cut away the tub surround or other wall finish material. At this point your bath may be raised onto some timber slabs to allow access under the bath to make the final connections. From home maintenance to professional plumbers the plumbtub is the new tool, for leaks, draining down or dripping pipes. If you need to drain a radiator then the plumbtub will clip around the pipe and help collect the water, and as it gets full you can swap to a second empty tub. NOTE: Freestanding baths must be positioned with a minimum 50mm gap between the bath & any wall surface. This is to allow movement of the bath whilst entering & exiting the bath.If you have a small bathroom but still want to have the luxury that comes with having a bath, you can opt for a smaller sized bath, such as a corner bath, or a sit in bath. This way, you are getting the same amount of luxury without taking up space in your small bathroom.

Cut a two-by-four board to match the length of the bathtub. Line up the two-by-four’s top edge with the lower marks on the stud and attach it with exterior grade screws to each stud. Single-ended baths tend to be the most popular choice as they will fit in with almost any bathroom. Both taps are situated at one end of the bath, usually above the waste area. This style of bath is typically designed for one person to relax in the tub. The taps being located at one end is ideal for bath showers which have a mixer shower valve, as this can be fitted to the wall directly above the taps and waste. We are currently using Royal Mail Parcelforce and DPD as our delivery providers, all small items will be delivered by Royal Mail, these can take up to three working days to reach you. If a stringer board or tub-edge support board is present, remove it with a pry bar or a screwdriver bit on your drill. Chip away the old mortar bed if one exists. For remote delivery locations and offshore islands these may take longer to arrive, and in certain circumstances further delivery charges may apply. These locations include / but are not restricted to UK Highlands and Islands, UK Non Mainland, Isle of Wight and Northern Ireland. The key to success when installing a new bathtub is to make sure the new one fits perfectly in the void left by removing the old tub. Most alcove-style bathtubs measure 5 feet long and between 28 and 34 inches deep. It’s challenging to get an exact measurement from the existing tub while it’s still in place. Fortunately, bathtubs come in standard sizes, so your educated guess from the tape measure will be the correct measurement. Use a hole saw drill bit to drill a hole into the bath. Go slow and steady, aim to get the hole a few mm bigger than your tap pipes, so you can be sure of a nice fit once washers and bolts etc. are installed.
