Add Athonian Camoshade and Druchii Violet in recesses and random patches, letting the washes flow together We’re going to go for a light colored leather, so we’re going to start with a base of Jokaero Orange. It’s going to look really orange, because you just painted it orange, but the further steps will tone this down a bit. Varnish the windows to “save” your work! Gloss varnish is preferable because it’s easier to wipe off future mistakes with a damp brush and water.

At this point I could start painting by hand, generally working from the inside out. These are the recipes I used for the various different areas. Unless otherwise noted, my washes cover the entire basecoat area, and highlights are all edges. Brass Armor Your highlights have now been dulled down a bit. Now add some new ones on top using Skavenblight Dinge, Gorthor Brown mix, and mixes of the two. You’re roughly repeating your earlier steps at this point. Credit: Evan “Felime” Siefring Skaven Clanrats: Skaven Clanrats are the basic infantry of the Skaven army, and Skavenblight Dinge paint is perfect for painting the base color of their fur. That’s it for now! Stay tuned for further articles covering other exciting models for Marvel Crisis Protocol! Additional Photos:

I chose this color scheme based on color theory concepts and took complementary, split-complementary, and similar color schemes into account. The chosen hues ought to work in harmony and balance with Skavenblight Dinge.

Mix in a little more Mephiston Red and layer up again, concentrating on raised areas where light would hit This is not a mistake I made, but until you’re done painting do not glue the buildings or any inconvenient bits, such as the main gates or sarcophagus covers you intend to leave half open. Step 1: Mottled StoneworkMix in a little more Tallarn Sand and layer up again, concentrating on raised areas where light would hit

The Council Chamber of the Thirteen is where the Under-Empire's ruling Council of Thirteen meets, for here the leaders of Skavenkind gather to discuss matters of importance and vote on the issues at hand. The Council is located within the great Shattered Tower, a massive and imposing tower that is connected to the Temple of the Horned Rat, the most magnificent of all the temples dedicated to that vile Chaos God. [1a] [6] The other thing i mixed is a standard wash of 1:1 Armypainter Strong Tone and Dark Tone (Agrax Earthshade and Nuln Oil Work too). Its something i use on nearly all miniatures with a more realistc paint job.Vallejo Game Color Dark Fleshtone [ Doombull Brown] was painted directly into the recesses of the armour. Then, a small piece of blister sponge was ripped off, dabbed into paint and carefully “stamped” on the armour to add a chipped armour effect – this technique is called sponge weathering. Wipe any excess paint and don’t overdo the effect. Whether you’re in the fantastical realms of the Age of Sigmar or walking the battle-ravaged wastelands of the 40k universe, there’s a good chance you’re going to come across the opportunity to paint something made out of leather. From straps to bandoliers to boots and gloves to holsters, this flexible hide material is used to create a variety of important clothing items and accessories, and today we’re covering everything you need to know about the material and how to paint it. An Introduction to Leather While this is step 5, you can do the little details at any point after you’ve done the railings and stone. There are WAY too many skulls on this model. You have to paint them carefully so you don’t get bone color on your finished stonework, and you have to paint them twice, because you really do need two thin coats to get solid coverage. For my skulls(and various random bones), I painted them with VMA Sand(Ivory), then washed with Agrax Earthshade. For your sanity, I recommend a similarly simple approach. The skulls are the worst part of painting this kit. Then, clean your brush off on a paper towel, and feather out the oil paint to fade into the grimy edges.
