If you choose to connect your phone to your navigation device without the app, you won't have access to the smartphone messages feature. Smartphone messages are only available on iPhones, or Android™ (5.0 or higher) smartphones, that connect to the navigation device using the MyDrive app. You also won't have access to TomTom Services unless your mobile service provider allows Personal Hotspot/Bluetooth® Tethering. With the unrivalled precision of TomTom's mapping, it creates the optimal route to your chosen endpoint. Regular map updates are available to keep your device current, albeit at an additional cost. However, these updates ensure your device is always up-to-date, providing accuracy and peace of mind on all your journeys.For easy reconnection, make sure Bluetooth® is switched on and your phone is in range of your TomTom device. To use MyDrive, you must have the latest software version installed on your navigation device. To find out what the latest software is for your device, see : Syncing large files to your device may take some time, so we recommend that you always do this before starting your journey. If you want to speed up the process you can connect your device directly to your computer using a USB cable.
