About this deal

Although I don’t think they got the naming right by calling it Tag Manager, it is a darn good idea! Each set of tags lives within the preset, so you won’t find any Lightroom shortcuts in your Tag Manager if you are currently editing your Photoshop preset. Once you understand the Tag Manager’s purpose and how it works, it’s an immensely useful way to organize the possible customization options for any given application. Built-In Functions Example built-in Lightroom functions Available mouse functions The build of this controller is better than any other computer accessory I've bought to-date. It's built like a tank. It's clearly designed to sit tight on your desk. So, the travel bag is not really going to see a lot of use. Submit a valuation request and we'll provide guide prices with no delay. Plus, we'll collect your gear from your home or work for FREE. What’s new? And is the Elite worth buying? Let’s find out. Disclaimer: TourBox sent me a TourBox Elite, but have not paid for or sponsored this review. New Bluetooth connectivity Help is generous, well-integrated into the software and also includes extended video tutorials on installation and operation.

The TourBox Neo also can’t access every Develop setting, and there are some that have to be used with a mouse or tablet (eg, Tone Curve). But the majority of settings I most frequently use are there, and I can speed through a baseline edit of a RAW image much faster with the TourBox NEO. If you prefer the old way of connecting via USB, you still can. TourBox provides a USB-C cable in the box. The TourBox Console software will ask you to choose between Bluetooth and USB at setup and anytime a connection change is detected. Connecting the TourBox Elite via Bluetooth or USB-C cable Photoshop is where I typically do all image cleanup, dodging and burning, and sharpening. I could do all of this in Lightroom, but I prefer Photoshop’s more robust toolset.

The Console allows us to modify existing keyboard shortcuts, create new templates, create macros, and create new folders. I found the Console to be especially well-thought-out.

Wireless connections are convenient, but they can introduce a lag that makes accurate control very difficult. Although I have experienced input lag on some pen-based photo editing tablets, I saw nothing like that with the TourBox Elite. The TourBox Neo’s heft and tactile feel is great, but the buttons are a little too close together for me. One of the biggest features of the Neo is the ability to combine button pushes and have hundreds of shortcuts at your fingertips, but because the buttons are very close together, that made it difficult for me to combine button pushes. I wish the buttons were spread out another ½ inch or so. I think my fingers would be able to acclimate to the shortcuts much more easily. In truth, I found myself getting frustrated by the short button distances. Your Tag Manager is where you can keep a list of possible shortcuts that can be used for your chosen application.

The software did not come with a global preset. So you have to manually create your own global preset and link it.
