On top of all this, there’s a pretty in-depth career mode for you to play through as well. In this, you’ll go on a journey from wrestling on the independent scene, all the way to the top. This year's game features several franchise advancements, including a unique new take on the 2K Showcase, the WWE 2K introduction of the fan-favourite WarGames, and expansions to several marquee game modes.

The Switch is one of Nintendo's most successful and influential systems ever. There’s something unique about carrying a home console-quality gaming device everywhere you go. Figuring out what to play, though—that's getting harder every year, as the roster of first-party and indie games grows deeper and deeper.Grow your Nintendo Switch games library with new adventures. Make your island home in Animal Crossing, race with Mario and build with Minecraft. Kids can explore expansive worlds in Legend of Zelda and catch ‘em all with the latest games from Pokémon. From active games to immersive stories, there’s something for every gamer on Nintendo Switch. Make WWE 2K Battlegrounds your own with tons of customizable parts as you create, customize, and edit your own original created characters and Battlegrounds! As is well known, the ‘proper’ WWE 2K game for this year was dropped due to the abysmal state of WWE 2K20. Had that not happened, this is the time of year we should have been expecting WWE 2K21, not Battlegrounds. We don’t know what the situation was here; was this game hastily put together to fill the gap? Was it originally planned for some time in 2021 and brought forward so there was something available for WWE fans this holiday period? If so (and again, we don’t know), that would have been unfortunate, because with a bit more time in the oven this one could have turned into a delicious feast, rather than the significantly undercooked dish we’ve ended up with. This game initially came out in October of 1985 and was an extremely popular arcade game, but has since been remastered for the PlayStation 4 and, of course, the Nintendo Switch.

Best wrestling game since ps2 games maybe even n64. It has limitations but is fun. I’m loving it. Respect Chris and own some of his books and usually agree but I’m loving this game. The five platforms detailed when WWE 2K22 was confirmed are PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. If you thought the last entry was retro, Arcade Archives MAT MANIA EXCITING HOUR takes it to another level. AAW may not have cutting edge gameplay, but between the vast creation options, unique art style and mechanics, it’s well worth giving a go. Wrestling Empire Genre

Once you’ve maxed out the meter fully, you can then hit your signature move and win the match. This makes the game feel a lot more authentic, as in a real wrestling match, both competitors will start off slower with the aim being to build the match up to a big finish at the end. There's a ray of optimism here, as we've seen a few signs that a WWE 2K22 on Switch release isn't completely out of the question. The main story takes around 8-9 hours to finish and a full, 100% completionist run will take you close to the 16 hour mark It’s a bit hard to tell who the cover star is as you can’t actually see him, but John Cena is front and centre for WWE 2K23. The man has a hall-of-fame-worthy career and boasts a couple of WWE game covers already, so to us, it makes sense to put the legend on it this time. The fact that the showcase mode pays homage to his illustrious career is just the cherry on top. There are other options too, such as various weapons to select from which will be in the ring from the start and pre match promos, where specific wrestlers will call others out and create drama.

Is WWE 2K23 coming to Nintendo Switch?

Due to the delay seen the last time they jumped to Switch, it's possible that in the coming months after this initial launch we could see Visual Concepts reveal a Switch version. Among the core series, the last title to hit Nintendo Switch was WWE 2K18 which launched on Switch in December of 2017. That release was delayed a full two months after it had hit PC, PS4, and Xbox One in October of the same year. Will WWE 2K22 ever release on Nintendo Switch? Overall though, I'm so over the simulation 2K wrestling games. 2K14 (THQ's last game before 2K took over) is the last wrestling game I actually enjoyed. I actually enjoy Battlegrounds far more than any of the games from 2K15 onwards.
