For example, let’s say I rolled four 1s, three 2s, and 5 6s. I would pair four of the results of 1 with 4 of the results of 6, leaving me with three results of 2 and 1 result of 6. Adding those numbers up I get 12. Subtracting 3.5 for each of the four dice I get a final value of -2. My distribution produced a mean value that was 2 less than the population.

Opponents of the Aeldari find them mercurial and elusive, and plans are sure to fail as these unpredictable skirmishers feign retreats and mask their presence.Headstrong- Saim-Hann v1.5, granting you reroll Advance and Charge rolls. Both are solid benefits to have across your army, whether it’s to help get into range with Battle Focus units, ensuring combat is made, or just moving around for the mission. No Named Characters (apart from the YNNARI ones, duh), SOLITAIRES or ANRATHE units. No, you still can’t have Jain Zar or Prince Yriel in a Ynnari Army, despite the fluff. While no Epic Hero has been shown for the Eldar, we received two very interesting Datasheets: one for the Farseer Character, and one for the Guardian Defenders Battleline unit. Plus, if you do manage to roll twelve 5’s and 6’s, this will be pretty strong. Even some 4’s thrown in there wouldn’t be too bad. Their long lives and powerful abilities allowed them to spend their days pursuing their desires. Striving for perfection in whatever pleased them led to hedonism and immoral practices. The extremes of the Aeldari psyche and combined hubris and debauchery spread throughout their Empire led to the creation of their downfall. The chaos god Slaanesh, called ‘She Who Thirsts’ by the Aeldari, was spawned.

Unlike the Adepta Sororitas , who use their faith in the Emperor to store rolled dice for later use , the Aeldari’s delicate mastery over fate allows them to maximise the result of any dice – as long as you’ve foreseen that specific type of roll. And as you can choose which results to retain in each battle round, you’ll have plenty of options for avoiding a critical failure in even the smallest games. Both of these have wide use throughout the index, however, for my money these are screaming to be used on Spiritseers attached to Wraith- units. Unlike in 9th edition, the Spiritseer synergizes very well with Wraiths by granting a critical bonus to hit as well as other advantages. The opportunity to further enhance the capability of these deadly and durable units, I think, really makes them a particularly interesting choice in a way they just weren’t in 9 th edition. Five Coolest Units Overall – it’s good that we’ve gotten some swift changes, they definitely make things better , opening up the metagame enough that it can actually develop , but if you pinned me down and made me choose I’d say not far enough, and I suspect the clamour for bigger changes will get pretty deafening if GW do choose to hold on till the next quarterly points update. Protect gives a CORE unit +1 to their Sv Characteristic, to a max of 2+. Helping offset even a single pip of AP can be significant, especially on already harder to shift units like Wraithblades or Shining Spears, but still useful on other units as well. Generally better than Conceal, as you can still get Light Cover, and bypass Ignore Cover rules, so it’s worth the extra Warp Charge. After these awesome rules showed for the Aeldari, the Stratagem revealed by Games Workshop is a bit underwhelming. Fire and Fade won’t change much from the 9 th Edition version, as it will still cost 2 CP, and let’s a unit at the end of the Shooting phase make a normal move – however, it can’t embark on Transports, not even if the unit using the Strat is a Harlequin unit (they can in the current rules). This Stratagem is also very strong, it just doesn’t bring anything new to the table like the other rules and datasheets showcased in the Warhammer 40k Aeldari Faction Focus.

Points cost. While their units are very good, you are paying a premium for things that won’t take a punch. Speaking of which… Khaine’s Lance- A SHINING SPEAR Exarch causes one enemy unit in Engagement Range that they charged to take D3 Mortal Wounds and also Fight Last. Whilst only 50/50 and relying on the charge, this can have a powerful impact on the game, ensuring the Spears cannot be interrupted, or helping support another unit in Melee. Not totally reliable, but worthy of consideration. A troupe of Harlequins dance across a ruined battlefield, dealing spinning death to some unfortunate Ork Boyz. If it is after 2pm on a Friday, a weekend or bank holiday you must wait until the next working day before your item is shipped. Where possible we will aim to ship faster but we reserve the right to adhere to the policy.Character Survivability: Way down in 10 th edition. With few options for Lone Operative and the universal removal of Look Out, Sir, Eldar characters find themselves reliant on their Bodyguard units for protection. Unfortunately, those bodyguard units are often T3 1W bodies that a volley of lasguns or a particularly stiff breeze could murder.
