About this deal

Joss said: “I’m very grateful for how much Bootlegger is a part of this company. He’s given us massive exposure here when Rob (McElhenney) and Ryan (Reynolds) weren’t here.

The disgusting taunt made light of a young Wrexham fan who had passed away recently. The chant caused a chaotic uproar in the Wrexham end, and in a morbid twist of fate, the moment has been associated with Karl and his videos ever since. “I grimace whenever it gets mentioned”, he says. “I’m friends with his family. But I don’t like talking about it. It just brings up bad blood”. Wrexham Lager and social media star Karl Phillips (AKA Bootlegger) have announced that two of their popular beers will be sold in Aldi stores throughout Wales and England from February 3. He is also something of an enviable brand, having his own beer named after him – Wrexham Lager’s Bootlegger 1974 Pilsner, which has made its way onto the shelves of major supermarkets. I’ll be honest, I’ve got a young kid and I’m self-employed at the moment. When I started my vlogs, I was a factory worker. Now I don’t have much time to do them every game, and sit there doing the edits. But I do plan to get myself out of the pub to start vlogging again – there’s more to come this season, at some point soon.” “Supporting your local” is no easy taskBut that was a love he recently had to give up. Against all the odds, Bootlegger – famous for usually having a pint of Pilsner in-hand – completed the Stoptober challenge. He gave up the booze for an entire month, and in the process, raised thousands for charity. Wrexham Lager is a beer that was first brewed in Wrexham, Wales. The beer is now brewed in England, but it is still available in Wales. There are many places to buy Wrexham Lager, but the best place to buy it is at the Wrexham Lager Brewery. The brewery is located in Wrexham, Wales, and it is the only place to get the beer. The beer is also available in England, but it is not as common. He has become something of a social media sensation with his matchday vlogs, posting various videos of him sinking pints and attending Wrexham games, home and away gaining him a cult following. Viral fame has indeed been a double-edged sword for Bootlegger. Part of his online profile came from a very unfortunate incident when Wrexham faced their bitter rivals Chester. A grossly-offensive chant came from the opposition supporters during a minute’s silence, which Karl had captured on video.

Following the link to find out more… If you’re ever in North Wales, especially around Wrexham, you’ll find this lager on draught in most pubs and bars. It’s not as strong as the bottled version coming in at 4%abv and I think this makes all the difference. It’s a perfect beer, not too strong, a good session beer. It’s mouth feel is fantastic, smooth, rounded and the malt gives an almost warm, nutty taste. German hops give a perfect, understated finish. I can’t speak highly enough, so onto the bottled version. If I was giving a score out of ten this would be around an eight or nine. To give you a comparison most bottled lagers, by InBev and the like, would come in at no more than a five, even Brewdog’s Lost Lager or Kingpin would only get a seven. I’d love a 500ml bottled version of the 4%abv beer though, I think this would be a rival to Fruh Kolsch as my favourite lager. I recommend you get on the train from wherever you live, come to sunny North Wales and get it on draught. It will be worth it. He said: "I’m proud to be a part of Wrexham Lager and we’re finally making strides forward so that anyone can reach the beers locally. It’s another huge step for mankind."
