Some of our most popular formulas in the specialty line of Mod Podge are the outdoor, dishwasher safe, fabric, and sparkleformulas. I would use two – three coats to seal a project. You’ll want more coats depending on how much the project will be handled. If it’s a piece of furniture under heavy use, I’d even go up to five. How many coats of Outdoor Mod Podge should I use? I would say that you should try it, and don’t be discouraged if you get wrinkles. They add character!

You can watch this video, but here are my steps as well. I first prepare my surface by sanding wood, washing glass or tin, etc.I paint the surface with several coats of acrylic paint (if desired). I always “prepare” my fabric before Mod Podging it down. This means I brush medium coat on, let it dry and then cut it to fit the surface. Applying the Mod Podge not only prevents fraying, but also makes the fabric more flexible and easier to adhere to the surface smoothly.

I use a bunch of different matte mediums (mostly Matte Mod Podge and Liquitex Matte Medium). Yes, Mod Podge is a Matte Medium but not as high a quality as Liquitex or other matte mediums. If it’s completely dry, the answer is “sort of.” You are going to have to wet the Podge and scrape it off. Mod Podge is tough. Does it come in different sizes? Absolutely – well mostly. You can use it with acrylic paint, and I highly recommend FolkArt Acrylic Paint as my brand of choice. These days I’m loving their multi-surface formula. Alternately, you may apply Mod Podge® to the area and let it dry completely (to speed up drying, you may use a hairdryer set on low). Then place the Napkin onto the surface in the desired position. Cover the Napkin with a piece of parchment paper and iron (on the cotton setting) to adhere the Napkin to the surface. Allow the parchment paper to cool and then remove. The Mod Podge® will melt and adhere the image to the surface. The advantage of this technique is that you can move the image until you iron it down. Also, the Napkin will not tear or show bubbles, and it will be completely flat like the surface it is on. Again, finish with a coat of Mod Podge® on top. No.It is waterbase and acrylic, which is great because that means it’s non-toxic. You can use it with your children without fear. But all these things mean that it’s not totally waterproof.

Which Mod Podge should I use?
