Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization: Both models support Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization which is a digital signal processing solution that leverages Dolby's deep understanding of human audio perception to create the sensation of overhead sound from the listener-level speakers. DTS Virtual:X provides immersive audio without height channels, creating virtual height effects in a 2.1, 5.1 or 7.1 speaker arrangement. Four Smart Select function buttons on the included remote allow you to store your preferred or frequently used settings and change them when you want — including input source, volume level, sound mode, Audyssey configuration and even “All Zone Stereo” setting for party mode. With the push of a button, the NR1711 instantly configures the receiver to your desired setting.

Stream audio from your favourite music services like Apple Music and Spotify or watch videos from services like YouTube and Netflix from any iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple TV. Hear the audio perfectly synced to your speakers from AirPlay 2 sources. Marantz, like all electronics manufactures, receives products returned for various reasons. In 2011 consumers returned 17 billion dollars in electronics globally, of which less than 5% were found to be defective! Once a product has been opened it must be resold as refurbished and can’t be resold as new again. The history and reason why a product was returned is not provided to us, thus we can’t provide any additional details regarding its past. All products are processed by Marantz certified technicians, where they are fully tested, repaired (only if necessary), and retested again to ensure the highest quality control. Each unit must pass a complete battery of test before it can be titled a "Marantz Factory Refurbished" product. The new NR1711 stores two Audyssey settings and switches between the two settings on the fly, giving you freedom to tweak your listening experience based on content or listening environment. Connecting your speakers and other devices, such as TVs, to the NR1711 is seamless, thanks to the HEOS smartphone app and the step-by-step onscreen setup assistant. More than enough HDMI ports are available; there’s even support for 8K video at 60 Hz. We had enough ports and connectivity options to create a multi-room surround setup with NR1711. We also connected more devices to the NR1711 than we could to the Cinema 70s, thanks to the additional component input/outputs, which we noted were missing from the Cinema 70s. We enjoyed watching movies with the Cinema 70s as the receiver provides six HDMI inputs with 4K HDR10+ support and 7.2-channel surround sound with Dolby Atmos and DTS: X. We were able to easily create a three-dimensional sound setup without the need for any overhead speakers. In addition, the Audyssey MultiEQ made creating a three-dimensional sound experience even more effortless by analyzing our room’s acoustics to reduce reflections and other issues while optimizing the speaker output. The NR1711 is a 7.2-channel receiver with 90 watts of power delivered per channel. Like the Cinema 70s, the NR1711 supports Dolby Atmos, DTS :X, and Audyssey MultEQ room calibration. However, some additional unique features, such as Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization, can simulate height channels without needing physical speakers. Bluetooth can be a bit laggy, but we found sync more or less perfect. That was interesting given that neither the headphones we used – Bose QC35 II – nor the receiver support the low-latency aptX LL codec. Perhaps the receiver automatically adjusts the sound – forward by a couple of hundred milliseconds – when you’re using headphones, so that it matches the picture. Or perhaps it’s simply an inherently low latency implementation.

Variable Refresh Rate (VRR): VRR enables a gaming source such as a console or computer to deliver video frames as fast as it can, which in many cases is slower than the normal static refresh rate. It allows the TV to adapt to certain frame rate which reduces or eliminates lag, judder and frame tearing for more fluid and better detailed gameplay. It offers six HDMI inputs, but only one output, which means you can’t feed a TV and projector simultaneously. channel discrete power amplifier for all your entertainment: Powering 50W per channel (8-ohm, 20Hz – 20kHz, 0.08% THD, 2ch. drive), enjoy your favorite movies in striking quality. HEOS® Built-in wireless multi-room music streaming technology:Listen from any room for a connected, whole-home audio experience.
