Description

USB connection for use as PC/Mac webcam for live streaming (HD1080p quality, 16Bit/48kHz audio quality) Zoom has outfitted the Q8n-4K with a powerful 160-degree wide-angle lens, which captures crystal-clear 4K ultra-high-definition video and offers up to 4x digital zoom. Thanks to the ten onboard scene presets, you don’t need to be a professional cinematographer to achieve top-notch results. Simply select the right one for the filming environment and you’re away. Presets can also be tweaked to your preferences using the rotating full-colour LCD touchscreen, which is easily accessible whether you’re behind or shooting “selfie-style” in front of the camera. As it turns out, Zoom has a whole ‘Q’ family of video-capable products, so my outburst only betrayed my ignorance. The Zoom Q8n-4K is one such all-in-one gadget that wears enough hats to make it a content creator’s dream. It can record 4K video, four channels of audio, including two XLR inputs, or act as a webcam or USB audio device. Zoom’s slogan – ‘We’re for creators’ – couldn’t be manifested more perfectly in a product. LOOK AROUND As you can see, the video specs are a bit underwhelming here, but that’s OK (depending on your scenario, of course), we’re dealing with a device from Zoom, so let’s talk audio! Audio specs

In terms of form factor it looks like a small sized consumer handycam with an audio module on top. It weighs in at 367g / 12.94 oz including the battery. Video wise, the Zoom Q8n-4K camera is not going to break any new boundaries, however it does offer 4K30p UHD video recording as well as 1080/720p at up to 60fps in MPEG-4 AVC/h.264 format. The lens is a fixed focal length affair, with the field view set at 150°. Capturing the image is a 1/2.3″ CMOS sensor with 16MP resolution.

Production

Leider gibt es auch keinen Line in Eingang der manchmal sehr praktisch ist und Zoom H4 n Pro dabei ist.

Uses a system of interchangeable microphone capsules that can be swapped out as easily as the lens of a camera Navigating through the Q8n-4K is quite simple and we love that. On the side of the LCD screen is an arrangement of buttons assigned with specific functions depending on what mode you’re in. Nevertheless, the buttons are placed next to the function’s name displayed on the screen. So, for example, the camera’s FOV button is next to the FOV text and menu on the screen. You navigate through the menus by pressing the same button. It follows the same setup in the settings menu: the buttons align with their function on the LCD screen.

Scene’ options for use in different lighting environments, including ‘Auto’ setting that intelligently adapts to your environment types of scene settings (Auto / Indoor / Outdoor / Night / Concert Light) and 3 levels of brightness adjustment function Can be used for live distribution as a PC / Mac WEB camera with a USB connection (maximum 1080p image quality, 48 kHz / 16-bit sound quality) We took the Zoom Q8n-4K out to a nearby park. With the camera set to 4K at 30 fps, we experience some noticeable grain in our image’s dark to somewhat dark areas. Even in a well-lit environment, there was grain. It was clear that the camera wouldn’t fare too well in low-lit situations. The camera’s lighting filters also do little to help its low-light image quality. When recording, we swapped between the settings and found that the camera’s image was either too dark to capture details in the shadows or too bright to capture elements like the sky or bright areas. If shooting with this camera outside, we would recommend using the auto setting. This ensures that, if there’s a change in the lighting as the day progresses, the camera can try its best to correct it.
