About this deal

Tip: After cleaning, spray Autoglym Hyperfresh inside the vehicle for a long-lasting, fresh fragrance. Features & Benefits: a>

After Interior Shampoo was used on the seats, the smell of smoke was barely noticeable. Your mileage may vary though depending on how much product is used, how many cigarettes had been smoked etc. After cleaning our interior with Car Gods’ Interior Detailer, we were left with a pleasant apple smell, which wasn’t too overwhelming. The product also comes with a 2-in-1 vent cleaner and hard brush, which will help you get to those hard-to-reach places. That makes it good value for money, even if the price of the product is more expensive than some others tested. It can be used on all hard surfaces in your car, including metal and wood, but not fabric or leather. The great thing with Interior Shampoo is that it can be used on both cloth and leather seats, as well as steering wheels and seatbelts. It can also be used on dashboards to clean them. There are a few ways it can be applied, depending on the area that is being cleaned, and also the level of cleaning that is required. First thing’s first, give your car interior a good hoover. Most dirt inside your car is dry and the majority can be removed this way. The Autoglym Hi-Foam Interior Shampoo is an easy to use multi-surface car interior cleaner. It features a rapid sprayable application. Simple to use, just spray on and wipe off. The high-foaming action has a specialized formula, which dissolves and loosens dirt and grime from a wide range of surfaces. It is suitable for use on synthetic upholstery, fabrics, carpets, vinyl and plastics.

Now it’s time to apply the shampoo. Spray it onto all interior surfaces in a sweeping motion, ensuring an even application. For areas that are really dirty, Interior Shampoo can still be used, but I would recommend that this is in conjunction with a carpet extractor. Depending on the size of area that needs to be cleaned, I’ll either apply it directly to the area, or onto a brush as mentioned above. After a moderately strong agitation, I then go over the cleaned area with a carpet extractor. One thing that should be noted is that less is more when it comes to using a carpet extractor You can always do additional passes afterwards if it isn’t quite clean, rather than bombarding the area with product and oversaturating it. If not all of the liquid is removed, than it can lead to mould and dampness in the car. Results This will depend on the type of upholstery you have and how dirty it is, whether it may require pet hair removal products or otherwise. However, here are some general tips that can help you clean your car’s interior effectively. The first is that before applying any cleaner, vacuum the upholstery thoroughly to remove loose dirt and debris. Use a crevice tool to get into tight spaces, and make sure to vacuum under and between the seats. Overall, I’m really impressed with Autoglym Interior Shampoo. I like that it can be used for a variety of surfaces. In addition to this, it also leaves a great smell behind in the car as well. Whilst I don’t smoke, I did give a bottle to a friend who smoked in his wife’s car after specifically being told not to. Our School of Car Care campaign aims to bring you the very best insight, advice and product guides to help you keep your car in tip top condition this winter. If the thought of adding a ceramic coating to your car scares you, or you want that deep shine traditional waxes offer, Autoglym has you covered. For the ultimate shine, our top choice is Autoglym Ultra High Definition Wax. It'll give your car a mirror-like finish thanks to the use of refined carnauba wax and comes with a handy applicator and buffing towel. Alternatively, there's Rapid Aqua Wax, a budget carnauba wax that can be applied to all exterior surfaces, including glass and rubber. product/helpAdviseTab.hbs -->

For areas that aren’t overly dirty and just require a freshen up, it is often enough to spray a small amount of Interior Shampoo onto the desired area, agitate it with a microfibre cloth and then go over it again with a dry one. Liqui Moly’s Auto Interior Cleaner can be used on all plastics, fabric and trims in your car. While using, you’ll need to give it a few minutes to take effect, but don’t let it dry out. Liqui Moly suggests you spray directly onto surfaces, then wipe with a damp sponge or cloth, although we found it better when we applied it with a cloth so we could control the amount of product used. The scent isn’t particularly long lasting, but smells like apples, and we were left with a lightly polished and streak-free finish. No.1 Super Valet can be used on all hard surfaces in your car, including plastic trims, rubber, metals and dashboards. The smell reminded us of clean laundry, which is always pleasant. CarPlan recommends applying this product to a microfibre cloth before wiping across surfaces. We found it kept the surfaces looking exactly how they should: glossy finishes remained glossy, while mattsurfaces stayed that way. Even though I do keep on top of cleaning the seats in my car, using Interior Shampoo has left them looking as though they are brand new seats. I very rarely eat in the car, and on one of the few occasions, I actually got chocolate onto the seat. Using the technique above with an interior brush, it removed all traces of the chocolate, which was a pleasant surprise. Value for MoneyIf it’s a bit of spot cleaning that is required, then my personal preference is to load up an interior brush with the Interior Shampoo, and then use that to agitate the area of choice. That way it’s a lot easier to control any residue, which is a must when it comes to cloth seats. If you're looking for even more variety and an abundance of different flavours and scents for a similar cost, Chemical Guys offer some really good products, but you'll easily become overwhelmed by the options if you're not careful. READ NEXT: To find the best interior trim cleaners, we lined up a selection of products at different price points, and noted how effectively they cleaned the surfaces of our test car. We paid attention to the time taken to clean each surface to a respectable standard – looking for a restored natural finish, rather than a dazzling sparkle – as well as the different types of surfaces each product could be used on. As always, value was a factor too.
