This rinse-off weekly treatment is formulated to reduce congestion, textural irregularities, blemishes, uneven skin tone, and the signs of aging. Great for: Natural ingredient fans as well as seriously dry pouts. Also for buying into a little of the Drunk Elephant brand without too much of a price tag. Despite the host of skincare-friendly ingredients, though, for me the key to whether I love or hate a lip balm generally lies in its texture… Too waxy and the product lies on top of the lip without absorbing or adding much benefit, while too thin a formula can end up slithering about all over the place (most irritating). Plump, hydrate and nourish a pout with the indulgent Drunk Elephant Lippe Balm, a rich skincare treatment that works to support softer lips.

This vitamin C serum also contains pumpkin ferment and pomegranate extract, which provide a mild exfoliation that sweep away dead skin cells to improve skin texture and help the product penetrate better. Suitable for any season, this buttery balm contains UV-protective mongongo nut oil and botanical oils to provide deep moisturising benefits on chilly days. A combination of vitamins A, D and E, along with antioxidants, peptides and omega-3 fatty acids, ensure lips are softened and protected from free radical damage. Shea butter helps to smooth and nourish chapped and rough skin, while cranberry seed oil supports excellent overall skin health. Panthenol (pro-vitamin B5) moisturizes and soothes the skin. Bisabolol, a component of chamomile, is soothing and helps reduce inflammation. Choose from the shades Sheer Golden or Sheer Bronzed. Both shades work on most skin tones and can even be mixed together. It also helps to balance sebum production and can help improve acne. Panthenol (pro-vitamin B5) moisturizes the skin.

Wanting to formulate products without filler ingredients, the brand has adopted an ingredient-elimination philosophy. You won’t find any of the ‘Suspicious Six’ within any Drunk Elephant products... We’re talking no essential oils, drying alcohols, silicones, SLS, fragrances/dyes and chemical sunscreens. Tiffany believes that by eliminating these ingredients, it will allow the skin to ‘reset’ and return to its healthiest, most balanced state.

I’m pleased to report that, for me at least, Drunk Elephant’s offering represents a happy medium- feeling hydrating enough that lips feel comfortable, but equally not so oily that the balm travels where it’s not wanted.
