I have attached a Powerpoint about Superheroes for you to read with your grown ups. How many Superhero characters can you name? The PowerPoint introduces the book, covering author, title, illustrator, blurb, pre-reading questions, post-reading questions. The PowerPoint also highlights possible unfamiliar vocabulary and offers an idea for a writing activity. There are seven areas of learning and development that shape educational programmes in the early years. All areas are important and cross over. The first three areas engage children's curiosity and enthusiasm for learning, they help children to make healthy relationships, build an ability to learn and achieve. These three areas are called the Prime Areas and are: Each of these worksheets is supported by an interactive Smart board 10 notebook file to aid teaching and provide extra practice for pupils. We hope your child will be very happy here in this very important and exciting first step on their learning journeys. We are looking forward to working with all Parents and Carers in supporting their children. Our door is always open so, if you ever have any questions or concerns, do please talk to our staff , we are always happy to help.

Hello children! I hope you are all keeping well and staying safe. Today would normally be the beginning of our Easter Holidays, so for the next couple of weeks the activities I am going to give you are mainly for fun and to help you to celebrate Easter with your families. Why not have a try at growing a sunflower plant beanstalk! If your grown ups can get hold of some seeds at the supermarket a pot and some compost (ordinary soil would do), plant your seed and watch it grow over the next few weeks. You could keep a diary drawing the different stages of growth. Today we have our Move and Choose book share for our morning welcome and the link to these are on our daily outline. You can decide between Miss Gibbs’ and Mrs Isaac’s book – the choice is yours! Mrs Davies will then teach the live sessions of Maths and Phonics to all children after Move and Choose until 10.10am. We have decided to gather all children for these sessions so that you have enough time to celebrate World Book Day with your child. If you have children in other classes, you may notice that our daily outline is a little different. This is because we wanted to make sure that there was a balance of screen and non-screen time as well as ensuring that your child’s experiences of books is age appropriate. If you have children in other year groups, you are welcome to adapt the outline and timetable to suit your family. For Friday’s assembly with Mrs Davies’, we will be inviting your child to share their books which they placed in the window today. Activity Three: Make some safari binoculars, you will need these when you go on your safari hunt! Watch the clip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zgh8xvs5jDg, you can look through your binoculars and see lots of animals, maybe you could draw your favourite animal! I have a new activity for you this week. In school the keyworker children and I looked at a story called, 'George saves the world by lunchtime'. Grandpa helps George to become a Superhero , teaching him how to save the world by saving energy reducing the amount of electricity he uses, recycling, resuing old items and repairing broken toys. Below you will find the link to the story on Youtube. You will find out lots of things about how we can protect our precious planet.

I just wanted to let you know how much I miss you and am hoping that we get to see each other really soon. Whilst I have been at home with my family I have been doing lots of baking, did you see me on the staff video with my mixing bowl & rolling pin? I was making gingerbread men just like we did at school, but the real favourite in my house is carrot cake, yum. The Prime Areas are strengthened and applied in the next four areas which are known as the Specific Areas: Make a Handa's Surprise Wooden Spoon Puppet (see image below). Retell the story with your own puppets. All you need is a wooden spoon or two and some felt tip pens to draw on the faces and features of your character. You might want to get crafty and use materials to create the bodies...it's up to you! Every Friday your child will receive a library book to take home and share with you. Please read this story with your child - sharing stories is important in developing your child's early reading skills. Your child needs to have their book bag in school. If they don't then unfortunately we are unable to provide your child with a book. Remember, work hard, have fun & be good for your grown-ups but most importantly keep safe & be happy!

Share photos of the resources in your classroom with others via social media and link to tpet.co.uk

For an even better way to find KS2 resources, discover tailored suggestions, and much more - visit the KS2 resource HUB! GO TO KS2 HUB Over the next week try and help your grown ups sort out things for the recycling bins, can you identify paper and plastic objects? Perhaps when the Charity Shops reopen you could make a visit, taking old clothes that don't fit anymore or toys that would now be better for younger children. In school we made some Posters. I have attached mine for you to look at. Could you draw a poster showing things you could do to save the world?
