Description

The many mentions of servants and large houses, the expectation that certain luxuries will be readily to hand and the leisure to attend gatherings and parties, all speak to the expected lifestyle of the reader. This was probably reasonable: it is unlikely that poor classes would be able to read, and certainly not for pleasure.

Before going on to detail the many forms of touching and sexual congress, the text gives a list of women who should not be considered as suitable partners: these include female relatives, close female friends, lepers, women who smell bad, a mentally ill woman, women who are too fair or too dark-skinned, and the wives of kings, friends, relatives and aristocracy. While some positions in Kama Sutra are pretty physically challenging, there are plenty that do not require more than average flexibility. How to Try Kama Sutra Safely Earlier translations were undertaken by one Richard Francis Burton in 1883. Unfortunately, he was a Victorian and saw more merit in imposing his Victorian viewpoint and thus had all mentions of female desire removed from the text, along with advice on how to ensure that the female partner enjoyed an orgasm. Remember crab walks? Yes, they’re great for your triceps and glutes, bu they’re also a great way to sexercise. To get started, both you and your partner get into the crab walk position (hands and feet flat on the floor and your stomach facing towards the ceiling) and literally crab walk towards each other. Talk about a mating dance! Raise your pelvis and lower it onto your partner and ride them like the true queen you are. This position is ALL about communication while you get a full-body workout. Position 7: Booty BounceWhether you’re a self-professed freak in the sheets or just looking to spice up your love life, a sex game could be the secret to a raunchy night of romance. And there’s no short supply of options to suit everyone and anyone, no matter if you’re playing with a partner or in a group. The Kama Sutra is an Indian Hindu text that dates from the 2nd century, originally written in Sanskrit, about erotic love. It's written by ancient philosopher Vātsyāyana Mallanga. While considered in retrospect a wildly inaccurate and misleading translation, the sexual positions described in Burton’s version are what caught people’s attention. That’s one reason people still think of the Kama Sutra as only a book of exotic sex positions. How Does it Work?

Ahead of its time, the Kama Sutra offers some progressive perspectives on sexuality and love. The ancient text even teaches that men should prioritize a woman’s pleasure over their own, by focusing on making sure she climaxes before even thinking about their own orgasm. The Kama Sutra section on sexuality "was designed to teach a man how to make sure that the woman was fully pleasured," says sex expert Seema Anand, author of The Arts of Seduction. "They believed that if the woman was fully pleasured, sex would go on for longer in a marriage. It even says that if a man can pleasure a woman properly, his business will do better because she won’t spend your money needlessly, and that a man would even be a better warrior."

The Big Book of Kamasutra is another app that includes a massive amount of sex positions and illustrations that you can put into life. OhMiBod is an app for couples that connects to a variety of vibrators, providing a new way your partner can help you get in the mood. Because it works over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, OhMiBod can also help long-distance couples stay physical, even if they are on different continents. The Kama Sutra was initially thought to have been written anything between 300 BC and 200 AD, and this understanding persisted for many years. However, a more recent translation – looking closely at tribes and events mentioned in the text – has allowed the work to be dated more precisely to having been written in the last half of the third century AD by Vatsyayana Mallanaga. Of course, we’re talking about sex games, adding to a relatively long list of saucy surprises, including red lingerie, massage candles, sex toys and more that all make an appearance for 14 February. Contrary to popular belief, The Kamasutra is not only a book about lovemaking and different sex positions. It covers other topics such as the art of living well, the nature of love, finding a life partner, and taking care of your love life. The sexual concepts that most people associate with the Kama Sutra became known in Western culture at the end of the 19th century, with the adaptation of the Kamasutra manual by a British explorer named Richard Francis Burton.
