SV – Save– tells you how high you need to roll on a d6 to pass a save roll. A roll of a six scores a Critical Save, which can cancel out a Critical Hit. What’s better than having your own personal objectives to compete for? Keeping them secret from your opponent and revealing your victory with a dramatic flourish, that’s what. 8. Jump Out at Orks and Shout Boo

This box follows the design that’s been the norm for 40K and AOS starter sets in the latest editions: There’s an emphasis on “starter” here. Up next is the Psychic Phase. Your magic-users of the far future blow each other (or themselves) up – or not, depending on range, psychic ability, and so on. Citadel Miniatures: Two full kill teams of Veteran Guardsmen and Ork Kommandos form the heart of war zone Octarius, each featuring a wide array of customisation and alternate assembly options. Extra detail parts allow for deep personalisation of your kill team, with many models able to be assembled as multiple different kinds of operative. Each team also comes with a full transfer sheet with over 400 markings and emblems for customising your models. If you’re playing a narrative Spec Ops campaign (more on that below), equipment works a little differently. Rather than freely choosing any item that takes your fancy, your squad will earn rare pieces of equipment throughout their campaign, which look to be decidedly deadly. All units are getting significantly more wounds than they had in the last edition – partly to keep them alive longer for more “cinematic moments”, and partly because weapon damage has had a buff, too. Shooting in Kill Team 2nd Edition has also had a bunch of tweaks which, combined, would seem to make the game much deadlier, taking cover much more important, and those increased wound counts much more appropriate. Thirdly comes an addition to the general rules. First, the new Close Quarters rule removes long-range shooting penalties, so you’ll need to be clever about charging your enemy down an empty hallway. Meanwhile, the Concentrated Radius rule will have you rolling an extra die for weapons with a random number of shots and discarding your lowest roll . We’ve covered the vast majority of the terrain in this box previously, which may either be a good thing or a bad thing for you based on personal preference. If you only want to go in on one of the boxes, or want to snag both and build out a boarding action table for one of the x0k games, go nuts. If you (like many of us), see KT boxes as a Trojan horse for getting cool new 40k terrain for our regular use tables, this would be a let down. It’s possible that there would be a pivot, but this does make us wonder if boxes three and four will have these walls as well?

The Moroch campaign book with rules for both kill teams in the box, as well as rules for playing campaigns and other battles in the Moroch Killzone Teased early on with the reveal of Kill Team 2nd Edition’s datacards and new APL stat, GW revealed on July 21 that the in-game ‘actions’ would indeed be used for everything your Kill Team operatives do in-game, as shown in the graphic above.

The new Kill Team: Pariah Nexus expansion hurl us face-first into the grim and claustrophobic skirmish warfare of the Forty-First Millennium. But how does the new Ninth Edition-friendly box shape up? Warhammer 40,000 Kill Team: Pariah Nexus Review – Summary Begin each round with the Initiative Phase, where the players roll off to see who gets to go first. It’s since had several expansions, from rules supplements like 2018’s Commanders, to boxed sets containing exclusive models, most recently Kill Team: Pariah Nexus. This is the third expansion for Kill Team: Into the Dark, so it takes place within similar close quarters battlefields on the Gallowdark space hulk. The rules for this kill team can be found in the Nachmund book. Read our guide for playing these piratical Aeldari here. Phobos Strike Team
