Overall: By the middle of the book, I genuinely thought the two protagonists are better off not together, which imo doesn’t bode well for the story. Not only does Keeper have the dreamy Booker Harris, but Poppy is adorable and quirky. Seeing her fall into an immediate friendship with Belle and Indie was so fun. Especially once Belle's crazy started showing. I seriously want to be best friends with these girls. I can't say enough about Cozy. One, she is a plus-sized heroine who is very much aware of her body, i.e., she knows how hard it is to find the perfect clothes or even to shop for them. What she is not is insecure about it, or a doormat. She doesn't throw herself a pity party over any of it. She owns her curves like it's nobody's business, and that, let me tell you, is what I really aspire to be. She's also such a strong person, and she's been through so much. She deserves to be happy. He thought getting a second chance at life was difficult, but resisting the spark he feels with her will test all of his strength.

Lesson to be learnt...if you and your best friend share a sacred place, under NO circumstances take another girl there and get busy❗️They were best friends until they became roommates. Booker Harris is the best goalkeeper in the Championship League. Tired of living in the shadows of his brothers, he’s finally carved his own path.He keeps his inner circle limited to family. Caring about too many people increases the risk of heartbreak. Poppy’s the only real friend he has other than family or teammates. He’d felt a sense of defection when she said she was leaving (she’d felt betrayed that he took a girl to a place she’d felt a connection to), she left and he immersed himself into football.

But when her sister begs her to interview for the nanny position of a high-maintenance client, she doesn’t have a good enough reason to say no. Of all the places Booker could have taken her, he brought her to their sanctuary, their tree. Their sacred place where they made their life decisions.Amy does a great job of writing a very tension-filled friendship between these two. Poppy refuses to let her walls down again and get hurt. Booker refuses to lose his friend again because he can't control his raging hormones as if he's a teen again. But the more they fight it, the more they realize they're just pushing each other away. We always take for granted the ones we love the most. I love the Harris family. Every single one of them. Booker, though, is my favorite so far. His journey, along with Poppy, from friends to lovers is filled with heartwarming childhood memories, painful past mistakes, and heated and intimate moments in the present. Managing the building where they live is only one of Daphney’s many jobs. It’s why she has zero patience for the obnoxious American on the other side of the wall who makes the most ungodly noises and likes to answer his door in nothing but a pink tea towel. But when her sister begs her to introduce her for the job of nanny to a demanding client, she has no reason to say no. Both of them are attracted to each other, but fighting it. Because it really makes no sense, does it? The uber-busy CEO and the nanny with her laissez-faire attitude. However, their connection is deep, because they're more than what they seem at a first glance, and because they match. They just don't see it yet.

Cassandra’s confidence. She’s fat, and she owns it! Yes, she has moments where she questions herself, but who doesn’t? I always love when we get a plus size heroine whose personality isn’t ruled by her weight.

Help

Like sneak into a Tire Depot waiting room, because her words flow there just like complimentary coffee-smooth, sweet, and scorchingly hot. Amy’s debut novel, called “Chasing Hope”, was released in the year 2014. Her work is from the romance genre. Tilly Logan is a fiery Scottish lass that did not bat an eye those five years ago when that smoldering Italian pulled her into the bathroom of a nightclub. He was dangerous and dark, precisely the good time that Tilly had been looking for. Even if he did work her overprotective brother’s team. Three things Lynsey Jones knows about the hot doctor: he’s grouchy, an arrogant jerk, and strangely obsessed with pie. Thank you @bbooksreview for the great rec! I’ve now added Amy Daws to my list of authors to look for.

TROPES: single dad; nanny; forced proximity (nanny lives in tiny house behind hero’s house); GREAT plus-size heroine representation Amy Daws has outdone herself with this book. Not only is it a wonderful story, but the heroine was inspiring. Thank you so much, Amy, for writing a plus-sized heroine with all the sass who is nothing short of amazing. And Max? Max is a total dreamboat.

What happens when an almost thirty-year-old virgin agrees to let her Scottish footballer best friend give her some lessons in seduction?
