Every Magical Kitty has a human. Every human has a Problem. In Magical Kitties Save the Day, you need to use your magical powers to solve Problems and save the day! But kitties live in Hometowns that are filled with witches, aliens, hyper-intelligent raccoons, and other foes. They make human Problems worse, so the kitties need to go on adventures to stop them before that can happen. Some of you might be balking at this: The core audience is six to twelve year-olds and you want them to understand how to read non-standard percentile dice? While my family really enjoyed the adventure it did take us a very long time to play through it. Somewhere in the rules, it’s noted that a typical session of Magical Kitties should last around an hour or two. After four hours of play, we only managed to get through three of four scenes in this included story.

Use the adventures included in the box or design your own magical scenarios to play a one-shot or start an ongoing campaign. But not all is well in the land of Happily Ever After: Queen Carnelia, the ruler of a land greatly harmed by magic, believes that Fantastica must be destroyed! She has made it her mission to eradicate every last bit of magic that can be found, and her magic hunters prowl the kingdom in secret, disguised as knights, nobility, merchants, adventurers, and even occasionally princesses. Along with this, there is a random chart for these humans that your group can use during character creation if they want their Kitties’ humans to be ones featured in this setting. Note, not all the cast members listed are humans, you’ve also got characters like Beep-Bop the Squirrel with connections, the visiting Queen of the Ice Giants, and some very enigmatic talking books.

Players are free to describe their kitties however they want and are encouraged to draw a picture of their Kitty. Second, a Magical Power should have an active use: Part of the fun of the game is for players to think up creative and crazy ways that they can use their powers.
