Description

If Channel Name is set in the device, the integration will use it to generate the entities’ name, e.g. Kitchen Light IMPORTANT: If the motion sensor detects movement while the Device is in AP mode the LED indication will briefly change to cyan. Shelly generation 2 devices running firmware 0.12 or later can act as a Bluetooth proxy for advertisements. Active or passive listening can be enabled in the options flow. Options There are two generations of devices. Both generations are supported by this integration. There are some differences in how devices should be configured and in the naming of entities and devices between generations. Shelly device configuration (generation 1)

Real time response - detects motion in less than 200 ms and immediately triggers action to other devices The integration uses Device Name to name its entities if the device has only one relay or no relays at all.

Welcome

The integration offers device services which can be triggered by a configuration button. OTA firmware update

Shelly Motion 2 (the Device) is a high-sensitivity, ultra-low power consumption Wi-Fi motion sensor, which also features light and temperature metering. The built-in light and temperature sensors provide additional opportunities for home or office automation. Shelly Motion 2 also has an integrated accelerometer for tamper protection and features vibration detection. The built-in 6500 mAh rechargeable Li-ion battery allows the Device to stay connected to the Internet in standby mode for up to 3 years, and in active transmission (approx. 6 hours/day motion detection) estimated between 12 and 18 months without recharging. Main applicationsBelow the Main Controls heading, observe the current room temperature, Shelly Device battery as a percentage, and light status of the room. Prior to using the Shelly Motion 2, please fully charge its battery by plugging the USB Type-C charging adapter cable into the Device charging port. It’s not just a PIR sensor. Shelly Motion comes with an array of sensors capable of measuring motion, vibration and luminosity. Thanks to these customisations, you can use this PIR sensor to trigger lights or dial it in, to work with alarm systems without running into false positives. PIR Not everything is by the book. While the temperature in the device card is updated every couple of minutes, the graph in the app displays the average temperature at hourly intervals. It’s frequent enough to give you a general idea about the environment in your house, but not frequent enough to perform an efficient analysis of your heating system. Depending on how a device’s button type is configured, the integration will create binary sensors corresponding to those inputs. binary sensors are not created when the button type is momentary or momentary_on_release, for these types you need to use events for your automations. Binary input sensors (generation 2)

If the Input Mode of the switch connected to the device is set to Button, the integration creates an event entity for this switch. You can use this entity in your automations. Events The red charging indicator above to the charging port will be on while the Device is charging. The indicator will go off when the battery is fully charged. The main sensor of the Shelly Motion2 – a highly customisable motion sensor capable of detecting motion up to 9m – is enough to cover most of the household areas. The minimum timeout for the motion is 1min, which may not be as impressive as a 1-sec timeout on ZigBee-based Aqara Motion P1, but the device comes with interesting trigger options. If you can’t find the CoIoT peer settings in the device’s web panel, it’s probably using an ancient firmware version, and you should update it to the current one. Shelly Motion2 doesn’t have a humidity sensor on board. For that, you will have to get their dedicated Shelly T&H Sensor instead. Apart from bathrooms and perhaps the kitchen, I’d be absolutely ok without that metric. Temperature is most important to me.

Smart Scheduling

If the cloud isn’t enough and you would like to have strict LAN control, using a web interface allows you to play with REST MQTT and CoAP. It looks like Shelly Motion remains present in the Cloud while MQTT is enabled, so this is a big step up from Shelly 1. If you choose to use the Device with the Shelly Cloud mobile application and Shelly Cloud service, instructions on how to connect the Device to the Cloud and control it through the Shelly App can be found in the Shelly Smart Control Guide.

Apart from temperature offsets, settings allow you to set the units, and monitor the threshold to increase or decrease the recording sensitivity. As a brightness sensor Shelly Motion 2 (the Device) is a high-sensitivity, ultra-low power consumption Wi-Fi motion sensor, which also features light and temperature metering. 6 hours/day motion detection) estimated between 12 and 18 months without recharging.Acting as a tamper alarm and potential warning system for earthquakes, the vibration sensor displays extra info in your app when the shakes are detected. Sadly it’s a binary notification, so you won’t receive the information about the strength of the motion, but you can calibrate this in the settings to fit your needs. Home Assistant will display a repair issue for the Shelly device if push updates from this device do not reach the Home Assistant server. CAUTION! Use only charging adapters that comply with USB-C standard. Do not charge the Device if the charging adapter or the charging cable are damaged. Brightness information is provided in lux units and ranges from 0 to 100000 and provides 3 light levels available as triggers: dark, twilight, and bright. These can be also defined in the sensor’s settings so if you don’t like the specific values for each trigger you can change the ranges.
