About this deal

The TT-02B chassis is the buggy evolution of Tamiya’s popular 4WD entry level unit, the TT-02 chassis. Time for proper build Topic of TT-02B Plasma Edge II. "Proper" because my previous build was more like questions topic. You can't fit a 28T or 29T pinion with a 68T spur on the TT-02 with Tamiya's motor mount (mounting holes just allow up to 27T). Bathtub-type frame features longitudinally-placed battery and R/C mechanism placed flat for a low center of gravity.

The TT-02B chassis is the buggy evolution of Tamiya's popular 4WD entry level unit, the TT-02 chassis. I'm surprised to hear the bearings are different, I thought they used the same hubs and axles. I don't have a TT02 though to compare. The above table applies to any car with a chassis ratio of 2.6. Beside the TT-02, other chassis with the same ratio include the FF-03, XV-01, XV-02 (which can use these spurs) and the TT-01.I've run a TT-02 with a 32T Pinon (made by MST) + 63T spur and you need to trim the gear cover (part D3) from the inside a bit as this large pinion will rub. I suspect that a 31T pinion *might* be small enough to not need trimming. Shaft-Driven 4WD ★Front/Rear 4-Bevel Differentials ★3-Piece Steering Tie-Rod ★4-Wheel Double Wishbone Suspension Length: 370mm, Width: 250mm, Height: 160mm ●Wheelbase: 266mm ●Tread: 217mm (Front), 208mm (Rear) ●Bathtub-type Chassis Frame i read the df02 diff would almost fit, just one piece to modify. I also read the gpm one would fit but quality ?. Now in 2019 what would you take ? Can we put ball diff in the tt02b ? What would you change ?

Bathtub-type frame has longitudinal battery and R/C mechanism placed flat for low center of gravity. i am now waiting for the front and rear aluminium wheel hub and I think she will be close to finish.

the plastic dogbones work well, but they can limit steering and suspension travel so while not needing replacing immediately it’s something to put on the long term list. May be a silly question, but for bashing only, is it not overkill choosing an excellent model such as the TRF ? I mean, will it be more difficult to break with all the reinforced parts or due to the performance increase, it will still finish to break hard ? (Anyway the steering will be more precise so it could be more manoeuvrable ?). Just a simple thought what is the best compromise : upgrading a tt02 or choosing a better model which btw seems to match my expectations in term of parts and performance... but for bashing hum Reliable shaft-driven 4WD system employs front and rear sealed gearboxes offering easy maintenance.

Buggies have larger tires, thus requiring higher (shorter) FDR to achieve the same speed. The Plasma Edge II comes with ~88mm tires. Four different gear ratios can be applied with the use of three separately-sold types of pinion gear, I really recommend to use sand paper on "cross" which holds gears. There is line where moulds are joined together and gears do not spin freely. Few passes of 800 grit, than 1200 and 2500.

Special feature 4: Lightweight and rigid FRP damper stays sharpen the suspension, and offer a range of setup options. Shaft-Driven 4WD ●Front/Rear 4-Bevel Differentials ●3-Piece Steering Tie-Rod ●4-Wheel Double Wishbone Suspension No actual speed measurements have been taken (I don't have equipment) but info is somewhat matched to empirical data found in youtube (mainly cageman's videos).
