The Sling has three upgrade levels for two different categories, Strings and Pouch. To completely upgrade it you need to complete each upgrade level for both categories. To move to the next level, you need to have the right type and amount of crafting materials needed for that specific upgrade. With the plot always at the forefront, you'll rarely catch yourself doing one thing for too long.
