Jane McDonald has now officially handed over the baton to comedian, writer and presenter Susan Calman for her new series Cruising with Susan Calman, where she also visits and experiences a wide array of international destinations on some of cruise’s most exciting ships! In episode 3 and episode 4, Jane travels to South America aboard the luxurious Silver Muse, showcasing the opulence of the ship in all of its glory. Starting the episode off in the colourful Chilean city of Valparaiso where she enjoys a street art tour before sailing to the beautiful glacier on Laguna San Rafael. Viewers follow Jane as she discovers the west coast of Australia with luxury cruise line Princess Cruises. Jane Anne McDonald (born 4 April 1963) [1] is an English singer and television presenter. Born and raised in Wakefield, McDonald spent much of her early career performing in local clubs and pubs before landing work as a singer on cruise ships. McDonald became known to the public in 1998 following her appearance on the BBC show The Cruise. [2] The same year, she released her self-titled debut album Jane McDonald (1998), which topped the UK Albums Chart and remained there for 3 weeks. Cruising with Jane McDonald series 2 ends with a trip around Cuba aboard Celestyal Crystal. Visiting the bustling city of Havana, Jane tries delicious food and wanders around the city getting a sense of what it’s like on the Caribbean island. Beginning in 2004, McDonald was a regular presenter on the ITV daytime television programme Loose Women, appearing on the show three times a week. It was confirmed on 16 July 2010 that McDonald would depart Loose Women in the summer, for at least a year to concentrate on her music career and to tour Australia and New Zealand. Although an Australian tour never developed into anything official, she proceeded to tour the United Kingdom in 2011. She returned in 2012 before leaving the series permanently in January 2014 to focus on her music career. She has since made many guest appearances. She continues to tour the UK with her solo shows & has introduced Christmas themed arena shows into her work schedule. Cruising with Jane McDonald series six takes viewers across a wide range of destinations, from the Great Lakes of America and Canada to the Mediterranean, the Balkans and the Adriatic Sea. Episode 1 - The Great Lakes of North America Cruising along the romantic river affords passengers views of beautiful castles, verdant vineyards and fairy-tale villages.The first series showcased the fantastic service and facilities onboard ships with MSC Cruises, followed by a more intimate, exclusive cruise experience with just six other guests. Jane adventured to the Caribbean, the Hebrides islands and the Danube river before finishing off in Canada and Alaska.

Speaking about the tour and the bereavement on Loose Women, Jane said that her live shows are inspired by Ed. "We made all these plans for the future we were going to have. We'd paid the house off, looked after everybody we needed to and it was our time to be together. Then he died. That's when it hits you and you think, "Oh my God, all those plans. Why?" You've got to make a different life from what was planned, but they go with you. You move forward with them in your heart. This tour is happening because of Ed. He's probably thinking, "Go on, you go for it." I have this ultimate joy in my heart, because he's still there."For those who have always wanted to visit Greece, the first episode in series 5 is bound to be a hit. In this episode, Jane enjoys a, island-hopping tour of Greece, including a visit to the historic capital of Athens, before heading aboard Celestyal Crystal, and venturing to Mykonos. She also visits the island of Santorini during her trip, alongside learning fascinating facts about ancient Greek history. Episode 2 - Portugal After appearing on Chris Terrill's docusoap The Cruise, she was taken on by independent record label Focus Music International [4] to make a covers album [5] and a Christmas single. The self-titled album Jane McDonald spent three weeks at number one on the UK Albums Chart, while the single "Cruise into Christmas" (a medley of Christmas classics) reached the top 10 of the UK Singles Chart. [6] During her time in Asia she sees some incredible sights in Vietnam and Cambodia including the famous Angkor Wat. The fourth and final episode of series three sees Jane exploring the legendary Deep South on the Mississippi River with the American Queen Steamboat Company, a truly unique river-cruise line with an All-American touch. Spread across four episodes, Cruising with Jane McDonald season 7 takes Jane across the Caribbean on a tropical cruise, before heading on a luxury river cruise down the relaxing River Thames. Episode 1 - The Caribbean: Part 1 After her number one success on an independent label, McDonald signed a recording contract with UMTV (Universal's catalogue and compilations division), [7] [8] and appeared as a guest presenter on BBC's National Lottery.
