I've had this on my Kindle for ages, but only got round to reading it after watching the recent Netflix documentary. The Portuguese police appear no different to our own. The basis of their intended fit-up appears to have been supposed DNA evidence found in the boot of a car rented three weeks after Madeleine disappeared, and dogs' reactions in the much-tramped-through flat months later. The suggestion is that in the full glare of publicity the McCanns, undetected, had moved her body weeks later in their rental car. It emerges that the DNA evidence was evidence only that Madeleine or members of her family had been in the car. The dogs that supposedly smelt a corpse in the apartment, meanwhile, have been found in other cases to be less accurate than flipping a coin. Research and weather reports suggest that the last photograph of Madeleine taken by the poolside, was taken on 29th April and not 3rd May as claimed. Their many political and celebrity benefactors and friends – including Clement Freud – get mentions, as if they conferred a seal of approval. The second half of the book details the lead up to Madeleine's disappearance and the horrifying abduction itself. The final part of the book outlines the police investigation, media frenzy and the unthinkable mental and emotional torture that Kate and Gerry McCann have endured ever since. Kate opens up about her feelings during this time and how she coped with the constant onslaught of accusations of guilt that were fired at her and Gerry during the investigation.

I asked Gerry apprehensively if he'd had any really horrible thoughts or visions of Madeleine. He nodded. Haltingly, I told him about the awful pictures that scrolled through my head of her body, her perfect little genitals torn apart". The McCanns now have three months to appeal against the decision. In a statement, they said they were “naturally disappointed” by the decision but much had changed since they started legal proceedings 13 years ago. After reading this book, I gave more credibility to the notion that my case may well have affected theirs, and not just the other way around, such is the detail in the time-line. Without doubt this must be one of the most harrowing books that I have read; I cannot imagine what it must be like to have a child snatched from under your nose, never to be returned. And for Kate McCann to write the story must have taken a lot of mental strength; some would perhaps say that it was cathartic and that may be the case but even if it did provide psychological relief through the open expression of her strong emotions it cannot possibly take away the pain and suffering and the feeling of utter sadness.

The part in the book where Kate tells of coming home to England and walking in their house is heartbreaking, and you would have to experience that heartbreak to able to write it as she did. All we have ever wanted is to find her, uncover the truth and bring those responsible to justice. We will never give up hope of finding Madeleine alive but whatever the outcome may be, we need to know as we need to find peace. At the end of the day, if any of the other friends in that group, the so called tapas 9, if any of them knew of anything Kate or Gerry had done to Maddie there is no way they would have stayed quiet, someone would have talked.

The Drs Gaspar, two UK Doctors on holiday with the McCanns and the Paynes in 2005, allege paedophilia within the Tapas 9 group. After the case was shelved, the McCanns were later implicated in their daughter’s disappearance by a former detective. The family lost a European court of human rights challenge after their libel case against the former detective was thrown out by Portugal’s supreme court. Didn’t they call the media, the government, family and friends before calling the police? And wasn’t it someone at the Ocean Club who actually did call the police? And didn’t they allow streams of people into 5a prior to the police turning up, meaning the crime scene was already contaminated due to their actions and choices? If you knew the evidence we had you would come to the same conclusion as I do but I can’t give you details because we don’t want the accused to know what we have on him – these are tactical considerations,” he told the BBC. And the book certainly reads well. I actually wanted to read more due its easy writing style. However, it is nothing like her more staccato diary kept at the time. I got the distinct impression it was written by at least two people, possibly more. Kate’s ‘voice’ based on her diary, jumped out and I could actually hear it – including the Scouse intonation. Other passages had a different ‘sound’ – to me, that is.Kate says that "Saturdays had become family days" - Saturday was the only day the creche was closed.

DID MADELEINE MCCANN DIE ON SUNDAY 29 APRIL, FOUR DAYS BEFORE SHE WAS REPORTED MISSING? – STRONG EVIDENCE THAT SHE DIDThis inspirational novella will warm your heart and show you the power of love to change lives. If you are a fan of well-written fast reads that leave you feeling good, this book is for you. Earlier this year, German investigators searched a large section of the Barragem do Arade reservoir, about 30 miles from Praia da Luz. German prosecutors at the time said the items discovered in the three-day operation might be linked to her disappearance but have not yet been confirmed as evidence. Double standard with respect to maintaining case secrecy. They kept secret those facts that implied PJ's incompetence, but leaked to the press any little detail that could be used, after careful twisting, against Kate and Gerry.

And that leaves K and G as the last ones, jointly, to see Madeleine at 8:30 ish. I do not include the word "alive' for obvious reasons. Dr Kate agonises over the press involvement: “No longer was it about our lovely missing daughter; it was becoming the Kate and Gerry show”.Ryan is everything Dawn is not. He's open, friendly, and willing to reach out to others for help. While Dawn feels drawn to the stranger and wants to help him, she's afraid that opening herself up will just lead to yet another romantic disaster. With circumstances pushing them closer together, will Dawn have the courage to let Ryan in, or will she hold to her rules and keep all the emotional complications out of her life? Losing a child must be the most painful thing a parent can go through, but having one disappear whilst in a foreign country and then having pretty much the whole of the UK, if not the world turn on you and suspect you are guilty of your child's disappearance must be heartbreaking every single day. Yet, I personally believe the McCann's had something to do with Madeleine going missing. I'm not sure what I believe their involvement is, but I just don't see everything adding up. And this book doesn't help squash any of my beliefs (it helps it along in some places.)
