Description

To ensure full-range sensitivity, it’s important to turn on the full level and make adjustments to the threshold and sensitivity settings (these settings are available in the preferences section). All four MPCs run the same ‘MPC firmware’ with the same features, but Akai have bundled each MPC with its own unique factory library (sounds, projects, kits etc) but the MPC X SE and MPC Key both include the following premium plugins; Fabric Collection, Studio Strings, OPX 4, Organs, Stage EP, Stage Piano. You should note that this is not the complete set of premium plugins, there are others that are only included as trials such as Mini D, Jura, Flavor Pro etc. Both the MPC One and the MPC Live II have the same operating system, CPU, and RAM, meaning that they possess identical computing power. Best ‘Beats on the go’ Option: With its internal battery and speakers the MPC Live II is definitely the most naturally suited to making music whenever the mood takes you, snd with its decent array of audio ports and flexible MIDI options it’s equally at home in the studio. If the MPC One Plus didn’t exist I’d be recommending the MPC Live II to everyone, but as it stands I just think that unless you really need those extra ports and are going to make good use of that internal battery, the MPC One edges it with its comparable features, ultra-portability and significantly lower price, and don’t forget it can be used with an external rechargeable battery if you really need that additional portability. Most models our powered with a19v, 3.4A PSU, but the One+ uses a 12v 3A PSU. I’m not sure why it needs less juice compared to the original MPC One, but if you are looking for an external battery unit for the One+, make sure it meets the 12v, 3.0A spec, as running 19v through the One+ is likely to fry it. Software Extras

The Akai Professional MPC One Plus Standalone Music Production Centre takes the original design to the next level, with expanded internal storage, built-in Wi-Fi/Bluetooth wireless connectivity and a range of other upgrades and enhancements. MPC is one of the most iconic sampler/sequencer series ever created; instrumental in creating the landscape of modern music. Taking the classic design into the modern era, the MPC One features an intuitive touchscreen display, allowing you to switch between sounds and settings within an instant. These MPCs are all completely standalone units – that is, they don’t need to be plugged into a computer, they provide a complete ‘in the box’ workflow all controlled by the large touchscreen UI and a combination of buttons, dials, knobs and pads. They can all also function as dedicated controllers for Akai’s DAW-like MPC Software (which comes free with all these MPCs). Then there’s those 16 Q-Links which give you immediate hands on control of essential parameters which dynamically change depending on the screen you are currently using (you can also manually configure these to suit your exact needs). And the little OLED display above each dial lets you know exactly what that currently assigned parameter is. The MPC Key 61 has 4 audio outs, and 2 inputs which support line, mic and instrument level signals, but there’s no support for phono signals. This is probably less of a deal these days, as many turntables now feature a line out, or vinyl is often sampled indirectly via a DJ mixer which will always output at line level. The unit is integrated with an extensive range of preloaded samples and can be connected with an external hard drive to help you access various sounds. It is less than 6lbs, which means it can be carried around for your music gigs.Ableton Live Control Mode is a special MPC mode that allows you to directly control a running installation of Ableton Live, so you can launch clips and scenes, mixer parameters and a variety of other functions. It effectively turns the MPC into a very basic Ableton Push. Currently the MPC Key does not support Ableton Live Control (it has not been confirmed why). Comparison: Portability & Size

These four MPCS all differ in a variety of ways but it’s very important to realise that all four MPCs run the exact same internal software with the same features (the only exception is the MPC Key 61 does not have Ableton ‘Live Control’ Mode). Here’s the main screen of the MPC firmware which gives an overview of all the main features of the operating system. Ever since, Akai have used the MPC framework to create new products, like the MPC2000 XL, which really helped the MPC series find a new audience at the turn of the millennium. The MPC Live will support the following file types.AKP, . ALL, .IPT, .PGM, .PRJ, . SND, .MID, .SEQ, . APS, .50k, and.50s.

Akai Professional MPC One Plus Standalone Music Production Centre Overview

The MPC One features a 7" (5.9” x 3.7”) full color, multi-touch display (resolution 1280x800, aspect ratio 16:10) for navigating and controlling the internal software. This means that not only is it touch-capable, but it can handle multi-touch gestures like pinching to zoom in/out and double-tap for advanced settings. MIDI devices can be connected via the traditional MIDI DIN ports, via bluetooth, or via USB (up to 32 devices via a USB hub). You can also connect USB-to-MIDI interfaces to increase the available MIDI DIN ports. The unit is suitable for beginners who don’t have extensive information about sound engineering, sound editing, and DAW tools. It is designed with sixteen velocity-sensitive pads to create melodies, bass lines, and beats. The unit has a high-quality construction since it has a metal chassis with a rubber covering, which creates a durable and appealing design. The display screen is pretty clear and bright, which leads to higher visibility. The MPC Live II also has expanded I/O, though the MPC One’s options are quite adequate for most normal users. MPC One Review: Conclusion

The MPC One and MPC 2.8 software are supported for use on Windows 10 and Mac OS X 10.13 and up. This will only require the installation of a single driver to use the MPC One as a controller with MPC 2.8. Nope, just another rumour. The MPC Live 1 & 2 are the only MPCs with internal batteries. But you can of course use a suitable portable battery if you really need to use your MPC One on-the-go. Just be aware that the One Plus model uses a 12v 3.0A power supply, while the original One uses the same 19v, 3.4A PSU as all other MPC models. What about the build quality? Is this the same? Akai’s MPC series started out as a collaboration between Japanese electronics company Akai and famed engineer Roger Linn, having designed the LinnDrum and LM-1, which defined the sounds of the ’80s.

Specifications

Bluetooth support in the MPC allows you to use Bluetooth enabled MIDI controllers (such as the Korg Microkey Air). You can also use Bluetooth to send MIDI data to an iPad. In both situations, no MIDI or USB cables are needed, so bluetooth MIDI is quite useful for mobile beat making use. This is a compact unit with various advanced features; for instance, you can connect a MIDI interface or external audio for recording the sessions. It is an all-in-one sequencer and sampler and is powered by MPC Software 2. Includes acclaimed instruments, including Electric, Tubesynth, and Bassline, and AIR FX mastering processors Sequence: The basic unit of an MPC. Project: Can be used like a scene, song section, or a whole song. You can connect your standalone MPC with your USB audio interface by navigating through the preferences menu and finding your sound card. You can also up to 32 inputs/outputs (but beware of the CPU usage!) New plugin Instruments

Featuring both complete standalone operation and full control over the brand new MPC 2.8 software, this machine is the best of both worlds! Yes! With the 2.8 Firmware Update, Multi-MIDI Control is now supported making MPC the ultimate MIDI sequencing studio centerpiece. Multi-MIDI Control enables the user to simultaneously connect up to 32 class-compliant USB Keyboards, MIDI interfaces, or USB to CV modules, supercharging your I/O capability. A new suite of AIR vocal effects: Tuner to make your vocals sound perfect, Vocal Harmonizer, a four-part vocal-harmonizer effect and Doubler, to add presence to your vocal line or create realistic double effects. New AIR insert effects AKAI just launched version 2.10 of the MPC firmware, their biggest update ever, with loads of new features and improvements! Let’s go through some of the amazing novelties you can enjoy with version 2.10. USB class audio supportIt works with a rechargeable battery and also has AC hookups to ensure seamless electric connections. It has sensitive and dynamic pads, which promises faster response for music producers who like to produce music on the go. You should get an instant answer on whether your application has been successful, though in some rare cases Klarna or V12 may need to look at the application in more detail. No, this is not true. The MPC One Pus has the exact same memory (2GB) and same CPU as the original MPC One. There is no change whatsoever in this regard. There were rumours that this new MPC One would have 4GB memory (like the MPC Key and MPC X SE), but this turned out to be incorrect. Some retailers even state that the MPC One Plus has ‘more memory’, but this is wrong; it has more internal storage space, but as stated above, this is used for ‘storing’ data, it’s not ‘memory’.
