Suitable for co-sleeping – this is what it was designed for, it provides extra safety as the sides prevent parents rolling on the baby or baby rolling out of bed/under the covers. It is also soft enough for you to have your arm over the baby for reassurance (Rory LOVES his bum being patted). The one thing I said was that I felt like I’d spent far too long ‘staying in my lane’. I suppose out of fear & uncertainty. It’s much easier to stay where you are than push yourself to something new & unfamiliar but for the first time in such a long time I knew I was so ready for it, because after all, you don’t grow from staying in your lane. Instead of trying to escape my life like I was a few years previously, I felt so sure that this time was for the right reasons. I’ve spent far too long in mine, worrying about other peoples lanes.

Because I’d made sure the focal point of this space was the fireplace, I was umming & arring about whether or not to have a TV in this space at all as we’ll eventually have a cinema/snug room & this room is more of a peaceful relaxing adult lounge vibe. Eventually I came to my senses & realised that I’d need somewhere to watch Love Island so went on the hunt to find something to fill the right hand wall whilst also disguising the TV. This also means more space to style all my beautiful bits which are far too pretty to keep in boxes.Josh Olson was the only student in his second grade class to see The House That Dripped Blood. Many years later, he wrote and directed the no-budget horror film, INFESTED, a brutal assault on The Big Chill, with zombies. He went on to write the screenplay for A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE and was nominated for the WGA, BAFTA and Academy Awards for Best Screenplay. He kept losing to Larry McMurtry and Diana Ossana, but that’s okay. Joe Dante is a director known for his satirical blend of horror and comedy viewed through the lens of grounded, relatable American life. his career in film began as a movie critic at age 12. A few years later, he conspired with Jon Davison to produce The Movie Orgy, an experimental exploration of ‘50s pop culture that metamorphosed into a hit phenomenon bringing Dante to college campus showings nationwide. Don’t starve yourself – I’m not 100% sure how it makes sense, but the weeks where I am so busy I forget to eat enough or that I’m desperate to reach a number on the scales so restrict myself, I don’t end up losing as much. It’s the weeks when I feel like I’m constantly eating (the right things…) that I get the best results. This whole room was actually inspired by two ‘hero’ pieces above, which I bought because I saw them when sourcing for clients & they were too much of a bargain to pass up, although I had no idea where actually they’d go. These were the two massive ribbed lamps & the 4 large framed leaf/plant prints. I designed the space around these as my starting point. I hope you’ve all enjoyed this reveal & if I’ve inspired you to take on your own caravan project (which I know from a few messages has already started happening!) then be sure to tag me!

Eases transition into own room/cot – baby is already familiar with the Sleepyhead when he/she is eventually transitioned into a large spacious cot (which many babies find daunting compared to co-sleeping or a moses basket). I’ve decided, a year (& a month) on, to take on the challenge again but this time with a slight twist. This will give Mr THTMM (who’s doing it too) & I a bit of a boost just before Christmas. Make the right choices– half of dieting is common sense, we all know what we should be eating but lets be honest, if weight wasn’t an issue we’d all be eating pizza over salad. If you can make the right choices the vast majority of the time then you can make the wrong choice occasionally. As we only had the measurements of the stove, he used a spare bit of plasterboard cut to size so we could work out how big to make the opening. This was then cut out taking into consideration allowing some room for the hearth which would add to the height. The roman blinds are from Dunelm called the Atlantic Natural which is a lovely grey/beige tone. These are actually way too short for these windows, but they’ll never be rolled down & are more to soften the space. This leads directly in to your open plan living space inspired by my own home complete with a large kitchen, a lounge area with feature fireplace & a dining area; the perfect entertaining or family space. Portable – I love how easy it is to move about, we’ve been taking it downstairs in the day so Rory has that consistency of knowing when he goes in it he should be sleeping and familiarity if we are on the go. Matt used timber & some trim to craft the kind of look I wanted to go for including some DIY corbels by cutting 8x bits of wood using a template & glueing together then filling/sanding. The bedside tables are part of the Camille Limewash range from The Cotswold Company*& I couldn’t love them more if I tried. They are the perfect tone of natural wood against the green of the walls & are great quality being made of solid oak.

The Movies That Made Me is recorded live in Hollywood and engineered by film composer Don Barrett. About The Hosts With the bones of the caravan looking a hell of a lot better, it was then time to focus on the fun part, accessorising to give it a bit of character & turn it in to a real home away from home. Here’s a little peek at the evening & I can’t wait to show you some of my projects from Interiors By Charlotte Valentine very soon!

Finally, a huge thank you to the incredible teams I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside on this collaboration; from Sam & Sarah at Darwin Escapes to Silvano & Victoria at Prestige & Paul (x2) & Joby the film crew who had me laughing for 2 days straight. Everyone has made this experience so enjoyable! All of the shutters in the house are from California Shutters which are DIY (measure & fit yourself) & I cannot recommend more – not only are they about half the price of many shutter companies but they just look beautiful & give off the most calming light. Our houses will be empty & our bank accounts full…just in time for Christmas when we’ll all be poor again & our houses will be full of tat. First things first, I started by ripping out the wardrobes. The space this gave & light it let in was insane & has made such an immediate difference. We have an ensuite off this room & next to it, a small spare bedroom which we’re planning on reconfiguring so they’ll swap round. The ensuite will become a dressing area then the bedroom a larger ensuite….when I can find a plumber which may be 2057 at this rate. In the meantime we’re using the spare bedroom off this as a dressing room which means I didn’t need any big bulky furniture in here. After Joe finally woke up, I was so excited to show him my find but was met with ‘yeah it’s okay I suppose but I don’t know why you’re so obsessed with it, it’s nothing special’. My parents also weren’t sold on it but I eventually managed to persuade them to view it as well as another couple of other options up this way. Throughout it all, I was adamant that this would be the one we were going to move to. I have a video of the day we drove up to view, coming up the lane & I say ‘are you ready guys, because we’re going to live here one day’ to which they all laughed. In the end they left that viewing loving it as much as I did. Wandering along the River Itchen and Itchen Navigation, Chris explains the importance of natural surroundings when it comes to our wellbeing. His journey stirs up powerful and difficult memories from his own struggles with mental health issues. Walking with a hand-held 360-degree camera, Chris heads north, starting a few miles outside Southampton and ending up at Winchester Cathedral. Following the path of one the oldest waterways in the country, he meets those who live, work and play in the area. You’ll have up’s & down’s– some weeks you’ll have big losses & be super motivated, others you’ll have tried really hard, eaten the right things but had an unexpected gain or not lost as much as you expected/wanted. Put it behind you & move on. The body is a funny thing…I found for a few weeks after I started exercising I’d get tiny losses even though I was trying harder than ever before but I persevered & it eventually started coming off plus I felt better in myself & could see a difference in the mirror, rather than on the scales. Before I start, in this post I’m not going to tell you about a secret pill or shake that will magically make you drop weight or mean you can eat whatever you want without gaining. I haven’t done anything out of the ordinary or found a ‘cure’ (I wish I had!) but I’ve gone down the route of changing my lifestyle with healthy eating & exercise. I can’t change your way of thinking in one blog post or stop you from comfort eating that family sized bar of Dairy Milk when you’ve had a crap day; the one thing I’ve learnt is that it’s all about when you are ready to change & if you aren’t, then it’ll never work. It takes hard work, determination & most importantly, time. What has kept me going throughout this is simple. Each week I’d stand on those scales (Monday AM, after going to the loo & completely naked) in the middle of the kitchen & every week, I’d see the scales going down. After not long, I started noticing my clothes getting looser & then, everyone around me started seeing the difference too & making comments about how great I looked. I’d then be able to buy clothes in a smaller size & not from any plus ranges. That right there, beats eating a Domino’s pizza hands down.
