You wanna go again and again and again right? This is me with TSO. I really needed more by Nico. As his obsessive love was the main thing that I liked in this book, I needed more chapters by him. That was a big minus of this book for me. But all in all, the writing made me feel and that’s what matters more. ugh, this book ruins me every time I read it. I read my favourite chapters more than three times in this reread alone 😭 NicoElena has become more than an obsession atp 🙏 My girl is selfless af. She would walk barefoot in the snow to give some prostitute her shoes and give money to the ones in need. I love that she owns up to whatever she feels for him even if it is to herself. Her inner monologue didn’t annoy me once. He accepts, wants, loves and cherishes all of her. But right now, I could say I hated something. Two things. That goddamn ring and the man who gave it to her.”now y’all are probably wondering why i find the threat of maiming hot. but this is Nico. that dude is a crazy mofo. i lived for the jealousy scenes, he was so invested in her love life & the way he thought elena was in love with another man had me spiraling 💀 ugh, how he always glanced at her from across the room?? 🤌🏼 let't not forget when he pushed her into the pool because she wouldn't stop talking to christian Voices from the foyer drifted to my ears every time the swinging door opened as our servants came in and out, preparing for lunch. This OCD dirty fed with mafia ties ruined me for all men. Fictional men (if I say non fictional, would you judge me? 🙄). He set the bar so high, I don’t think anybody else could ever measure up. 😭

I think the only thing that threw off that one star, although I'd say it's closer to 4.5 stars (thanks Goodreads) was that some dialogue threw me off. Without going into too much detail, there was some instances between some of the men and other girls that made me go "Okay... but no??". Maybe that's just the feminist side to me - regardless, I can't lie when I say that was the only small thing that fell short.

As for this book, which is highly recommended to me by my dear friend Sara, I can say that it is even surprising for me that I enjoyed it this much 😊 As it is the mafia world, Elena has assumptions about Nico. She thinks Nico will break her heart. She believes that a man like Nico will never be faithful to her. That’s why, she doesn’t want to show her feelings towards him.
