The Oral B 4000 comes with 2 brush heads (crossAction and sensitive), while the Oral B 5000 comes with 3 brush heads (crossAction, sensitive and 3D white). As the name implies this mode is more gentle. It is designed to offer a softer, but thorough clean. It helps those with sore or inflamed gums, but reducing the number of movements in the brush head, making for a more comfortable brushing experience, until the sensitivity has gone or reduced. This mode is great if you are suffering from gum disease.

The charging stand is fairly self explanatory, but I explain more about this in the battery section of the review. Sensitive is to be used when your teeth and gums are inflamed or for some reason feel painful. Use a sensitive brush head with this mode to get a gently comfortable cleaning results I suspect over time you will learn this, but wouldn’t some icons or LED’s be helpful to show the mode.
