Description

Can be used to paint many things, not just fishing floats. Very strong and hard wearing enamel paint. One point ; In the preparation stage it is imperative to make sure the areas to be painted are kept free of ANY form of handling. Fingers are greasy and do nothing to help long term. The same goes for dust, so I paint in as controlled an environment as possible. Dust is everywhere and most you cannot see ! So you have all of your materials, the next thing to do is to cut a piece of Balsa between 4-5 inches long. However before doing that, for the sight tip, I have a coat ofplastikote white as a base, then two coats of plastikote bright orange over that, THEN humbrol flourescent gloss orangeontop of that (a single coat works as long as you make sure its properly stirred - dremel plus small bent bit of wire ! if you must put on a second coat allow at least four days drying inbetween); then the matt varnish on top.

recommend that you use recorded or special delivery as we can not be liable for any loss or damage in transit. Firstly, take the correction fluid and apply it to the end of your float without the swivel covering about 4-5cm of the balsa. Allow this to dry for a couple of minutes.

It may seem daft putting a matt varnish over a gloss finish but that last coat of flourescent gloss certainly makes a hell of a light reflective and therefore visible difference under a matt varnish - best of both worlds. Float paint comes in a variety of colors and shades, making it easy for anglers to match the color of their float to the conditions of the water they're fishing in. For example, brightly colored floats may be more visible in murky or dark water, while muted or natural colors may be more effective in clear or shallow water. Next you need to very carefully take small shavings off the piece of balsa at the end with the swivel in until the balsa is roughly blended in to the end of the swivel barrel. Next you need to cut the loop off one end of a swivel using the pliers. Hold the remaining loop of the swivel in the teeth of the pliers and gently force the barrel of the swivel into the hole in the balsa, don’t worry that the hole is smaller it will expand as you push the swivel in. These are never going to be the amazing work of people such as Paul Duffield, Mark Greenhalgh, Ian Lewis or Greg Kaminski but they are easy to make and work really well.

The next stage is the fun one, you get to colour in your float I will show you how I colour mine but you can be creative with your designs and colours. Customizing your floats with float paint can also be a fun and creative activity for anglers of all ages and skill levels. With the ability to create unique designs and patterns, float painting can add a personal touch to your fishing gear and make your floats stand out from the rest. We will make every reasonable effort to deliver your products safely and in accordance with any specific delivery instructions that you give us however we will not be liable for any delay, damage or loss as a result of complying with such specific instructions. Oh, and don't on any account use plastikote varnish - it's not waterproof no matter what they say.... Bought two for painting old floats . At 73 yrs my eyes are not as good as they used to be . These type of paints are not particularly cheap but with integral brush and the quality of paint its worth paying for.

Pole Floats: Pole floats are a type of fishing float that is commonly used in pole fishing. They are typically small and highly sensitive, enabling the angler to detect even the slightest bites from fish. Pole floats are attached to the fishing line using a sliding attachment and are used to present a bait or lure to fish at a specific depth.

PLEASE NOTE: All services are normally delivered within 48hours but this is not guaranteed as we cannot be held responsible for problems beyond our control. Is the varnish necessary? No, probably not but if affords a little extra protection which suits me. You now have a completed float ready to use, test it in your sink by using a length of line and adding BB shots until it sits how you want it to, remember the amount of weight required or you will be constantly fiddling about on the bank getting it right. From this you will work out that I don't hold with the theory around ' flash ' caused by the addition of varnish, and apart from anything else my varnish is semi matt....

This Zuperpaint is enamel based. Until dry can be removed with white spirit or similar. Can be overcoated if necessary with clear lacquer to create a very hard wearing finish. Many will have favourite makes and colours and they probably work just as well as the above. All I know is that I have floats many years old finished in the way described above and they are still fine. In fact I have left some out in deep winter to test durability and still they survive. Float paint is a specialized type of paint used by anglers to customize their fishing floats. Fishing floats, also known as bobbers or strike indicators, are used to detect when a fish is biting on the bait or lure. Float paint allows anglers to customize their floats by adding color or patterns that can help to make them more visible to the fish or blend in better with the surrounding water. The paint is typically made from fast-drying enamel or acrylic that is designed to adhere to the surface of the float, providing a durable and long-lasting finish. Now take your sandpaper and gently sand both ends into a nice smooth finish, carefully blowing any balsa dust away.
