About this deal

Auren is now a character I dislike. Sorry, but she’s a stagnant character at this point, a bit whiny, and she goes on melodramatic monologues ever other chapter of hers. She has had so much great character development and I felt like nothing happened to her at all in this book despite her spending so much time doing nothing. He wants to yank out the stopper holding in my anguish while I’m still desperately trying to keep my fingers pressed to the cork. Book 3 of this adult fantasy series continues in this epic story inspired by the myth of King Midas, fae, fated romance, and insurmountable greed.

I also SO disagree with the fact that slade was willing to risk the lives of the people of his kingdom just so Auren could become mentally stable. Of course it’s something we’d all want to do but risking the lives of I assume thousands , possibly causing them starvation just for one person seems incredibly selfish to me and not something a leader would actually do. Read this series NOW! I felt like I was in the story watching and holding my breath the entire time' 5***** Reader Review It scares me - what I did that night. Because I don't know my own power . . . But that's been the problem all along, hasn't it?' Like a phoenix caught fire, I will need to rise from the ashes and learn to wield my own power. Because my wings may have been clipped, but I am not in a cage, and I'm finally free to fly from the frozen kingdoms I've been kept in.

The Heart Hassle Series in Order

Now I’m here, a prisoner of Fourth Kingdom’s army, and I’m not sure if I’m going to make it out of this in one piece. They’re marching to battle, and I’m the bargaining chip that will either douse the fire or spark a war. Thank you so much to The Nerd Fam and Raven Kennedy for sending me a physical ARC copy. I didn't get to read or review it before the publication date since I was in the middle of moving, but I'm so grateful for receiving an early copy. As always, all opinions are my own. I have never been so throughly seduced by a character as I was by Slade Ravinger. His endearments drip like warm honey and his filthiness makes me want to forsake my own morals which I would more glaldly do so for him. The fantasy plot is non existent. I’m sorry but I have no clue what the overall plot of this series even is. Every book is literally just devoted to character development which is fine but at this point having random political POVs don’t make sense. You are gorgeous, and I want nothing more than to watch my cum flood your mouth, but I want to sink myself inside your pussy even more.” (Nothing more, but something more, sure, dude)

The betrayers. The murderers. The ones who nearly destroyed Orea, and wiped out Seventh Kingdom in the process. He has power sizzling beneath this skin and glinting spikes down his spine. But his eyes—his eyes are the most compelling of all. RK opens various plot lines throughout the book, mostly done by newly introduced POVs and she fails to follow through with a single one of these plot lines. They all fade into nothing during the whole length of this book. Slade is a villain through and through. He is unapologetic about it and he fully embraces his Fae nature and it's ruthless urges. I'm glad this is something Raven did not erase or attempt at a redemption arc and while he does have good intentions but he is ready to unleash the villain if anyone as so much harms a hair on Auren. All in all, there were some major issues with this story. That said, I will be reading the next one. See you guys next year.

But with Slade by my side we will fight the monarchs that come for us. And if we need to become the villains, then so be it. I don't think I have the right words to convey the magnitude of the emotional suffering and joy this book had caused me and I wouldn't have had it in any other way. Another thing that really annoyed me was the romance between Rissa and Osrik. Not only was it completely underdeveloped and felt out of place within the story, it was also a repetition of everything we’ve seen happening between Auren and Slade in book 2. It was just the same thing all over again. Besides, it’s glaringly obvious how much the author hates sex workers and the treatment all of them get in these books from the narrative is just horrible. Rissa is, again, reduced to an object and her entire “story” revolves around sex, just as it did in the previous installments, only this time it’s labeled as freedom and her own choice. So, I will fight for him, and he will kill for me, and if we need to become the villains, then so be it.Every male is either (a) rapey misogynistic ass that is insanely triggering to read or (b) secretly traumatized powerful tough guy.
