Description

This type has a shape like a cone or a column cut at a slant, which allows users to select the cut surface size depending on the workpiece. The Hakko FX888D has an increased heater output of 30% compared to the Hakko 936 & 937 models. It also offers outstanding thermal recovery by using T18 tips, allowing soldering to be done at a lower temperature and in-turn reduces the thermal impact of components and extends tip life. Temperature adjustment* is an essential part of any strict quality control system. With adjustment mode, what used to be a troublesome procedure is now as simple as entering the measured tip temperature to HAKKO FX888D. The Weller WE 1010 is one of the best soldering stations on the market. Probably because it’s a quality soldering station that’s incredibly safe and easy to use. The first thing you’ll notice about the WE 1010 station is its clean and simple design. The base unit has a sleek LCD screen and three primary buttons to run all the features. You may appreciate the large and easily visible on/off switch. It’s just as easy to set the soldering temperature [2].

The iron holder also has a convenient area for a cleaning wire and a cleaning sponge. I only wish that the opening for the cleaning wire was a bit bigger. As is, I regularly clean the tip using the same spot. Having the removable bottom makes it so easy to clean all the solder junk that collects at the bottom from the cleaning wire. If only the rubber legs were a bit wider, they would help keep the iron holder from sliding around my desk. (This could be just because of the type of tabletop I have it sitting on.) Removable FX-888D tray Adjust the tip temperature to match the set temperature in case that there is a difference between those temperatures due to tip shape, heater replacement, or other factors. This type has a shape like a knife and is capable of soldering by applying the tip in 3 ways: line, face, and point. It is used for soldering at narrow pitches, correction of bridging, and drag soldering. Overall, the WE1010 is a great soldering station for those looking for an affordable and user-friendly option. Records the default button state of the corresponding category & the status of CCPA. It works only in coordination with the primary cookie. However, the Hakko FX-888D offers more precise temperature control with its PID technology, allowing for a stable temperature during extended periods of use. It also has a wider temperature range (200-480°C) compared to the WE1010 (200-450°C).

Heat up and temp stabilization are crazy fast, coming from cheap units this one surprised me when I first turned it on, was used to turning on the soldering iron and then in a few minutes could expect it to be stabilized. With the Hakko I turned it on and stood up expecting to have some time, and I wasn't 10 feet away by the time it hit temp and was almost stabilized. So very fast, which shouldn't be surprising if you have only been using the cheap units. This type has a thin conical end and is an ultrafine tip which is best suited for soldering at narrow pitches, etc. I am amazed by all of the available tip options and soldering iron attachments. For the FX-888D, there are only three extra different iron options. The pre-set temperature modes make it easy to get the perfect setting for your project, and the separate replacement of the iron and station is a nice touch. It the more powerful than most WES/WESD stations, and the ergonomic handle makes it comfortable to use. The improved safety rest is included, and easy access to the power switch is a nice safety feature.

This particular soldering iron can be used for stained glass. Just keep in mind that you should start soldering at the decreased temp range. Slowly increase the temperature range until you get the expected result. The voltage for the device is 120 Volts with 70 Watts and a temperature range (adjusted) of 120°F-899°F. When idle, the temperature will stay within 1 .8°F, making it one of the safest devices on the market. The Weller WE1010 is also compatible with ET series tips, making it a versatile tool. Its affordable price makes it a great value for the money. With only two operation buttons of UP and ENTER in the center, operation is simple and easy. Even if you're not familiar with operation of machines, you can operate it without difficulty. Iron holder with full of functions The Hakko FX888D is the perfect soldering station for electronics enthusiasts or professionals. With an increased heater output of 30% compared to other models and outstanding thermal recovery, the Hakko FX888D can do soldering at a lower temperature without sacrificing quality. This means that not only will your work be just as good, but it’ll also last longer too [1]! Ultimately, the decision between the Hakko FX-888D and Weller WE1010 will come down to personal preference and budget. How can you tell if it’s a fake Hakko FX-888D?

Hot tweezers. These are used to remove SMD chips and flat components. (The number of times I wish I had this one could have saved me). The WE1010NA is recommended for easy professional soldering jobs, such as PCBs, electronic kits, indoor lighting, low-voltage wiring, and cable assembling. Other acceptable applications are hobby models, small appliances like repairs or audio systems, and electrical work. Specifications Not only does the Hakko reach optimum temperature 30% faster than other brands, but in testing, it also showed less of a temperature drop after soldering or cleaning the tip. Additionally, Hakko had a faster recovery time than its competitors. Although Weller’s performance is good, Hakko simply outperforms it in every way [4]. Controls and Ease of Use The WE1010 also features an ESD-safe design, making it ideal for use in sensitive electronic environments. The included soldering power unit, iron, safety rest, and ET soldering tip make the WE1010 a complete solution for all your soldering needs. UL and CE listed, the Weller WE1010 is a high-quality and reliable choice for all your electronics projects.Additionally, both the Hakko FX-888D and the Weller WE1010 have temperature control dials that allowed me to adjust the heat for different soldering tasks. This was particularly helpful for delicate projects where too much heat could potentially damage the materials being worked on. Both stations also have a digital display that showed the current temperature, as well as a convenient standby mode to conserve energy when not in use.
